the pronunciation "aitch" was in O.Fr. (ache), and is from a presumed L.L. *accha (cf. It. effe, elle, emme), with the central sound approximating the value of the letter when it passed from Roman to Germanic, where it at first represented a strong, distinctly aspirated -kh- sound close to that in Scottish loch. In earlier Latin the letter was called ha. In Romance languages, the sound became silent in Late Latin and was omitted in Old French and Italian, but it was restored in M.E. spelling in words borrowed from French, and often later in pronunciation, too. Thus Modern English has words ultimately from Latin with missing -h- (e.g. able, from L. habile); with a silent -h- (e.g. heir, hour); with a formerly silent -h- now vocalized (e.g. humble, honor); and even a few with an excrescent -h- fitted in confusion to words that never had one (e.g. hostage, hermit).

ferenceto: As we approach the gravitational plane we will continue to experience severe whether, geological effects such as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and volcanic activity, with increased frequency and intensity.

As we penetrate the densest portion of the galactic plane and experience the full gravitational effects we may witness unprecedented solar flares, unexpected meteor showers and unfortunately geographical Pole Shift.

Subsequently celestial objects may pass through the solar system as they too are influenced by the gravitational plane.

This may count for the ancient records describing several world wide catastrophes accompanied by passing bodies, comets or what some researchers refers to as Planet X.

Computer simulations utilizing the collection of knowledge, we have decades of galactic models and satellite data, tells us that our solar system will definitely began passing through the galactic plane in the very near future.

The most severe effect that will cause world wide devastations, a Pole Shift are most likely to occur beginning some time between 2008 and 2014.

  1. This email letter copied as number 4 is titled a heart to heart and will not be included in the final blog post but referencing now because of sentiment and feelings and of the holiday magic more closely related to the Spring Equinox AND NOT FROM THE LETTERS CHRISTMAS TIME, OF ITS TIME POSTED
    THAT LETTER HERE:

    THE HARDEST THING TO DO

I am sending this very interesting email from my friend, Glenn Kimball. Hope you pause a few times to think about his thoughts. Only a few times in everyone's life a brilliant thinker and genius in ancient stories comes along. Learn from him.

    THE HARDEST THING TO DO

In the movie Phenomenon George Malley (John Travolta) says something to the children in the very last of the movie. He tells them that, "Everything is on its way to someplace". That is one of the most profound comments in cinema history.

We live in a day when there is an increasing tension within our own country. Hesiod predicted it and so did the ancient prophets throughout the scriptures. Never in my lifetime has there been such a polarization between political factions. The last letter I sent about my particular beliefs in the political world was met with undeserved praise from some and the most vehement critique from others I have ever received. I have thought a lot about that during the time that I have been ill for the last two or three weeks. I had a couple of dozen suggested to me that I stick to ancient history where I belong. Perhaps in the larger picture of things that is good advice. Certainly there are more important things for me to do than to try and convince either side of the reality of the world in which we live. However, I would like to say something about the very nature of those feelings.

This is the holiday season again. Many of us are suffering this year from one tragedy or another. It has caused many of us to doubt that we have ever meant anything to the world or believe that there is nothing left for us in this life. It is roughly the same tension in our personal lives that we see in our country. We react both positively and negatively out of fear. Part of us wants to hang onto something bigger than ourselves in order to find meaning. Another part of us wants to extinguish the thoughts of others to persevere the meaning we have left in our lives. Some are looking up to the immensity of space and time and feel small. Others of us are looking down at others in hopes of propping themselves up. Groups of people are doing the same thing around the world. Some are looking up from their lot in life and wondering if any of this apparent madness is worthwhile and others are looking down with so much hatred for others that they would shed the blood of whole cultures to preserve who they think they have the right to be. Both are on their way to someplace.

While I was trying to get my sea legs I had a dream. It was one of those dreams that you experience half of it when you are asleep and the other half when you wake up. I realized how unique we all are. I saw the greatness of the spirits around me and remembered that the greatest of the children of deity, along with the most divisive, came to this world. I remember hearing myself say that when you open the door to heaven you open another to hell itself. It is like the law of reciprocity works for us all. I wanted to tell the lowly at heart to remember that everyday and moment in this life is not only precious, but significant. A third of our lives are spent while we are sleeping and if we only knew what was really going on during that very large segment of life, we would jump up and down for joy. That was the reason for the two classes on Dreaming this month. One was so that you all know that this is a topic for which we are well educated Chase and I. However, the most important part comes in the second class where you understand how much potential we have.

Religion would like to have you think that when you die we all queue up in a long straight line and either follow the leader into heaven or down to hell. With this kind of thinking people try and control each other. The truth is quite different. Even though Jesus may be the way, the truth and the light and those who believe in him, yet shall they live, Jesus is the gate and not all the possibilities rolled up into one. We all have a very unique path both here in this world, and after we leave. It will do us little good to think that someone had a better opportunity than did we, because in the end that isn't true. Equally it won't do us any good to think we have to become like each other, because that isn't true either. The greatest thing we will ever do in this world is within the confines of our own flesh and it is a journey as unique as a fingerprint. I saw in this dream something wonderful. I saw that in the end we will all realize that we mean so much and are accomplishing so much that it is impossible to compare ourselves. Some of the greatest stories ever to be told about this world will be about individual journeys into our self discovery. There will be those who have shared with only one other person in their lives and sometimes we think that those who teach many are greater than those who merely teach themselves. That is not true.

Deity looks down from its heaven and doesn't think of us as embryonic nothings. They consider us children for whom they have prepared a place. We look up and sometimes feel jealous that we are not one of them because their lot is certain and their joy complete. Deity controls the creation of this universe and many others as well. We ignore the joy that is ours for the taking in the here and now.

I think of Betty Eadie who saw the beggar in the street in her near death experience and the lawyer stop in his grand car and helped him out of the gutter. She realized that one was not greater than the other. Both of them were doing something wonderful for each other.

Then I realized that the greatest of all the emotions for this holiday was gratitude. There is something very strange about gratitude. It is a feeling without arrogance and hatred. It is the attitude of those who understand that they are on their way to someplace. Hatred, skepticism and vehement critique are missing the journey. So are the ones who think of themselves as worthless. In this Christmas time I am grateful to all of you. I get to take this journey with you to the outer edge of what our generation has forgotten. One lady said today, "Where did these guys Chase and Glenn Kimball come up with this material?" I would like to tell her that I have been collecting ancient texts for over forty years. I don't think that would help her understand either. There are many who have been researching as long as I. My son who is thirty hasn't lived that long, but he is truly smarter than I. I worry sometimes that he might walk off the edge of the cliff like Don Juan Matus did in the end, and never come back again. Don Juan didn't die. They never found his body. He just learned how to use dreaming to enter the other dimensions and when the time was right, he just left, like the watchers of old, Moses, Elijah, Elias and John the Beloved. They never found them either. The emperors of China and the Egyptian priests were right that someone did have the secret to life, though they never found it. Someday we will speak about how resurrection plays a part in this scenario.

In any case, the story of the birth of the messiah is spectacular and worth many years of thought, dreams and learning. Feel grateful this holiday and let the spirit of the season do its best work in your lives.

    Sincerely,
    Glenn Kimball

SUBJECT LINE -Parable of a sozwer, ; , ?

My Email Letter Title-
"Expectations and inclined faith in covenants.
Healing is this context."

letter draft follows:
"Expectations and inclined faith in covenants.
Healing is this context."
We each have our own sense.
We have our commandments, whether believers or not; probably to both a certain common
degree of understanding and to some individual relativity and awareness.
Are there new commands written to be future commandments?
As time goes on and as times change...
...We pray for forgiveness of our sins.
... We pray for healing.
.....Are our expectations any different?

We pray for answers...
When the answers are found...
... we pray our thanks.

Do we expect our prairs to be heard and believed?
AGAIN NOW,
Healing is the context .

Of prayers and expectations and of personal works, and by faith...
Sure, each is not without some personal wondering or wundering.

Something we, or as individuals, have been waiting to hear...
Then what have we been waiting to hear something, of..?
..NOT MAKING SENSE, WE MUST BE LACKING
SOMETHING, OR, WE ALL WOULD HAVE THE SAME
EXPECTATIONS; FOR SUCCESSFUL, HEALING.

Manifestation; healing the subject, to contexted.
.
Many know and can reflect on the known story by the
title "The parable of the sower".

Now  I'm stepping up to the plate with
the word "sozw", an ancient greek word
sometimes meaning healing; and in that,

The introduction of the word sozw temporarily
changes the subject.

What the subject becomes, is CONTEXTS.
  1. If we use our  modern science to base all modern logic
to compare or prove anything, .... (anything is a big void to fill here)...
....are we  then not ourselves just writing OUT a metaphore ,
AND LEAVING OUT THE (better part of the meaning of) TRUTH?

    THAT IS A DIFFERENT QUESTION
AND ONE THAT IS POSED FROM AN ABSTRACT including
out-of-context; or for lack of better words, changing
the subject again; in the subject of healing, the context
we look for is RECOVERY, or REAL.
  2. Better I start with TWO comparable and related storys THAN TOINTERCHANGE COMPARISON REALITY WITH CONTENT .i.e, wepray for many of those somethings.
We do many things with expectations.
Its not that we do not care about those things we have no expectations of, BY
EXPLANOTORY DETAILS; it is more that, in those things that out of our hands
and that we have no control elements, THINGS BEYOND OUR CURRENT SURFACE
MIND OF KNOWLEDGE, LESS WE really imagine some sure feelings of a sensed reallity
of the possibility; OUR RECOGNITION IS LIKE THE MINDS REFLEX AND
we COULD HELP,  pay little to no attention to those, of somethings FOR GATHERING.

The heavens are telling the glory of God and the firmament shows his handiwork. Day unto day pours forth speech and night unto night shows knowledge.
There is no speech or knowledge where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun. Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. ... there is nothing hidden from its heat.
(Psalm 19: 1-6)

The Physical and Spiritual Laws.
This is another example of the science of salvation. The same laws that govern the heavenly bodies, govern the spiritual world. Just as the laws that govern colors demonstrate the gospel, we will demonstrate how the laws that govern the heavens and the objects that are in it all show the Gospel and His divine nature.
Because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1: 19-20)

The Sky. (The Great Sanctuary in Time)
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun. (Psalm 19: 4)
On a grand scale the sky represents the tabernacle or sanctuary on earth. The sanctuary teaches that God is the source of light and knowledge and hope to the world. The sky is the place where the source of light moves from one end of the sky to the other as the priest moves from the east gate to the Most Holy Place throughout the year. Every day it reveals the plan of Salvation.

» The Sky is a Veil. The sky is a layer that is a shield for us to separate sinners from the presence of God. At the Second Coming, God will rip this layer apart and expose our world to the third heavens. Only the righteous can survive.
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord has spoken it. (Isaiah 25: 7-8.)
» Christ is the Veil. But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel. (Numbers 1: 53).
As the Priest, Christ is the veil that protects us from God by standing between us and the wrath of God. At His death, the signal that this substitution was accepted was the torn veil, or His dead body. The veil stood between the church and God, between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. Sin no longer caused a separation between God and humans.
... The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And the earth shook and the rocks were split. (Matthew 27: 51)
The Sun. (The Speech in the Day)
The sun is 109 times bigger than the earth and 320,000 times heavier. It contains 99.8% of the total mass of the solar system. It is 70% hydrogen which is converted to helium and energy by nuclear fusion. This energy, in the form of dangerous gamma rays, emerges at the surface as light and heat.
  • Day and Night.. The major benefit of the sun is that it provides energy in the form of light. This dual nature of light and darkness is seen as righteousness and sin. Light guides us, while darkness is sin that causes death.
  • Heat and Light.. The sun provides light to see in the day and heat for warmth. While we can never have too much light we can have too much heat. This light is the knowledge of God as given in the law, the covenant, Israel and then Christ. The heat can be seen in the curses. The law provides both blessings and curses or light and heat.

Sun Christ is the Bridegroom From the East.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Christ is the sun that comes in our time to run the race of the strong man and to give light and unleash the heat of the wrath of God. He comes to the outer court of the sanctuary from the east and leaves the sanctuary at the Most Holy Place in the west.
Christ is the Bridegroom ... Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. (Revelation 21: 9)
Christ Comes From the East. For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24: 27)
Christ Comes as the Strongman With an Army. And I saw heaven opened, and saw, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
The Heat of the Sun. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "King Of Kings, and Lord Of Lords."
(Revelation 19: 11,14-16)
Sun The Sabbath.
God also created the cycle of the seven day week and specifically blessed the Sabbath day. It is a cycle that is not dependent on any of the laws of physics. He numbered all the days, but He only named the seventh day. This act of numbering and naming, is specifically seen whenever He sanctifies something. He names and numbers the saints. He only names the Sabbath day because He set it apart for a holy purpose. Therefore the Sabbath day can never be any one day in seven, because it was given a number and a unique name. It is the covenant day that will remind His holy people that He will give them rest.
"And it shall be from new moon to new moon and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all mankind will come to bow down before Me", says the Lord. (Isaiah 66: 23)
Sun The Shadows.
Light creates a shadow. An object in the path of a source of light will cast a shadow in the same direction on the opposite side of the object. This is also true for spiritual laws. The shadows are not the real thing but they do mimic and look like the real object. A shadow is not perfect, but it is not totally bad. Shadows give us shade, but they also reduce the light. Only the full exposure to light from directly above can remove a shadow. Two important shadows appear in spiritual time.
  • The Shadow Laws. By faith, we can know that Christ, standing in the future at His crucifixion cast a shadow in the past that is reflected in the ceremonial laws and the sanctuary. Because of this fact, the people before the cross could also live by faith. They could appeal to God for forgiveness of sin based on God's future act, because God's future act is more real than the shadow laws that were in effect in the past. In fact, if God did not exist in the future He could not have cast a shadow in the past. That is why faith is always based on an accomplished fact. When God makes a promise it is fulfilled.

Ceremonial Laws. For the Law, since it is only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who come near.
For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
    (Hebrews 10: 1, 4).
Christ is the real object in the future which casts a shadow in the past in the form of the ceremonial laws.
  • The Shadow of Death. Death also has a shadow. The law of God prescribes death for all who sin. God imposes a shadow death until He can judge the world, then He satisfies the requirements of the law with real death.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me. (Psalm 23: 4).
The bible makes a distinction between two deaths.
» The First Death. The first death is the shadow death. It looks and feels and is experienced like death, but everyone will be resurrected from it, both good and evil. Jesus refers to this death as being asleep. So the shadow of death casts another shadow called sleep.
    • Sleep. When God told Adam that He would die on the day that he eats the forbidden fruit, He probably imposed the shadow death of sleep that very night. This would remind him of what is to come.
» The Second Death. The second death is the real death. Nobody is resurrected from this. The second death will be given to all the wicked who are judged at the third coming.

The Moon. (The Knowledge in the Night)
The moon reflects the light from the sun but it is only half visible. All surfaces of the moon experience day and night but we always see only one side, while the other side is always dark or hidden.

Moon The Phases of the Moon.
The moon has several distinct physical appearances as it goes through a monthly cycle. The different phases occur because we are seeing different portions of the moon. In the lunar calendar the new moon always occurs on the first of the month, so the four distinct phases appear on very specific dates.
  • New moon New Moon. On the first day the moon is not visible. It rises at sunrise and sets at sunset. The dark side of the moon faces the earth and the lit side faces away from the earth and it only rises in daylight. So it is impossible to see.
» Waxing Crescent Moon. The growing moon. It rises in the middle of the morning and sets after sunset.
  • First quarter First Quarter. On day 7, the moon is half visible on the right side. It rises at noon and sets at midnight.
» Waxing Gibbous Moon. The moon is still growing. This is a half moon with a bulge. It rises in the afternoon.
  • Full moon Full Moon. On day 14, the moon is totally visible. It rises at sunset and sets at sunrise.
» Waning Gibbous Moon. Shrinking moon. It is visible from early night to the middle of the morning.
  • Last quarter Last Quarter. On day 21, the moon is half visible on the left side. It rises at midnight and sets at sunset.
» Waning Crescent Moon. This shrinking moon is visible before dawn to the afternoon.
Since the moon represents the church, the half lit appearance of the moon represents our human nature as we reflect the light of God. We are a combination of light and dark or good and evil.
When the light of God from the sun does not shine, it is the church who must give the knowledge of God in the night.
The Eclipse.
In an eclipse, light from the sun is blocked before it reaches the earth or the moon. Symbolically, an eclipse represents anything that blocks the light of God.

Solar Month. 30.436849 days
Solar Year (Tropical). 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, 45.51 seconds (365.24219 days)

Sun Solar Eclipse. An eclipse of the sun only occurs during a new moon. This occurs when the moon comes between the earth and the sun and blocks the light coming from the sun. So that black disk that we see is actually the moon. The eclipse appears to go from west to east and casts a shadow that is less than 160 miles wide (267 km) and lasts about 8 minutes.
  • Total Eclipse. The moon completely covers the sun.
  • Annular Eclipse. The moon covers the center of the sun, but not its edges. So a bright ring or halo appears around the moon.
  • Partial Eclipse. The moon covers only a part of the sun. People standing outside the edges of a total eclipse will see a part of the sun.
  • Hybrid Eclipse. An eclipse where all three configurations are seen in different parts of the world at different times.
Symbolically, a solar eclipse occurs when the church blocks the light of God from reaching the earth. This only occurs during times of religious persecution and forced worship instigated by an apostate church.
Moon Lunar Eclipse. An eclipse of the moon only occurs during a full moon. This occurs when the earth comes between the moon and the sun and blocks the light going to the moon. The moon is completely in the shadow of the earth, and it appears to go east to west on a normal day. That is an illusion created because the earth is moving faster than the moon. Both move anti-clockwise, from west to east.
  • Total Eclipse. In a total lunar eclipse, the moon is darkened but it glows a dull red from light scattered by the earth's atmosphere.
» Blood Moon. This is also called a harvest moon or corn moon because of the colors. Since the color depends on the atmosphere of the earth, the amount of pollution, cloud cover and dust from volcanic eruptions can change the color of the moon to near black, rust, brown, brick red, bright copper red or orange.
  • Partial Eclipse. Part of the moon is in the shadow of the earth. The moon does not appear full.
  • Penumbral Eclipse. The full moon enters the earth's penumbral shadow. This is the shadow where the light from the sun is not completely blocked. The moon simply appears dimmer. These are hard to detect because the moon is still very bright.
Symbolically, a lunar eclipse occurs when the earth blocks the light from the sun because the wicked blocks the church from having access to God. This is religious persecution instigated by the forces of evil. Notice that the earth itself is lightened by the glory of God but the wicked are not positively affected by it. They reject the light.
The Stars.
The stars are actually suns in distant solar systems. At these distances they cannot provide any heat. They provide a little light but their primary purpose is for guidance. Polaris, or the North Star, has been used for centuries to guide travelers. The constellations are a pattern in the sky created by a group of stars. They appear in specific parts of the heavens at different times and they can be used to determine the seasons.
Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the one who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing. (Isaiah 40: 26)
» God Named the Stars! God numbers and names the stars. What are these names?
» Named By God He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. (Psalm 147: 4)
God also said that they would be used for signs.
» Signs From God And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. (Genesis 1: 14)
Can we possibly tell what might have been the names given by God, or has astrology blurred the testimony?

The Guides of the Church.
Symbolically the earth represents the wicked who need God, the sun represents God, the moon represents the church but the stars represent the prophets and apostles of the church. They are sent by God to provide guidance. The moon or the church provides guidance to show us where to go, but the stars guide us by showing us where we are in time.

Star Spiritual Guides.
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12: 1)
As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. (Revelation 1: 20)
Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads. (Revelation 14: 1)
God also numbers and names His church as He numbers and names the stars. The 144,000 are best described as leaders who represent many people who will go to heaven. Just as the twelve apostles and the twelve sons of Jacob are founding fathers, the 144,000 are also great leaders.

Star Physical Guides. The Bible mentions only a few other heavenly bodies. They also show us where we are in time.
Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, or fix their rule over the earth? (Job 38: 31-33)
  • Orion. The hunter. Amos 5: 8 also mentions Orion and the "Seven Stars".
  • Pleiades ("Seven Sisters"). These seven stars remind us of the seven branches of the menorah. But we will show that they probably symbolize the seven headed dragon or the stars who fell from heaven.
  • Arcturus (The Bear and her Satellites). Because of its location in the north sky, it never moved like the other constellations, it simply rotated.
The word "Arcturus" has been translated as "The Bear" in some translations, but it is also the name of a star in the constellation Boötes. Since astronomers assign names based on ancient legends, the name Arcturus could be a much later assignation. Ursa Major was probably the Arcturus of the ancients. The little bear is connected to Polaris, the North Star which is used as a guide.
  • Constellations (Mazzaroth). To believe that the names of the constellations have any significance, one would have to believe that God was involved in their names. Psalm 147: 4 says that He did.
It is not hard to believe that their role and function have become corrupted, because the sun which is supposed to represent the light from God began to be worshipped as God by the ancients. But this fact should not strip us of the knowledge of what it really means. The same is true of the constellations.

Ancient Astronomy.
The Bible shows that people used the stars to give them advice and that this was an abomination.
Stand fast now in your spells and in your many sorceries with which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you may cause trembling. You are wearied with your many counsels; let now the astrologers, Those who prophesy by the stars, those who predict by the new moons, Stand up and save you from what will come upon you. Behold, they have become like stubble, fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before! (Isaiah 47: 12-14)
As we hurry to condemn information about the stars because of fear of astrology, take a close look at the condemnation.
» The New Moon. He condemns those who "predict by the new moon". However, the new moon was essential to Jewish worship life and it will continue in heaven. So what occurred was a corruption of the purpose of the new moon.
» The Stars. Could a similar corruption of the knowledge about the stars have occurred? Have we lost their use as signs except in random cases of falling stars where it might be a significant event?
As we will show it is obvious that God used them as "signs" as He originally intended (Genesis 1: 14). Every day these signs speak to us consistently, just as the new moon consistently fulfills its purpose. But how?

The modern constellations were obviously not all named by God and some names appear to have adopted the names of Greek mythology. But we could probably still find their meaning as God originally intended. So we will concentrate on the objects mentioned by the Bible to find the works of God in the heavens and we will look at the evidence that exists in ancient astronomy because they may include what the ancients knew about the names and characteristics. But we still cannot guarantee that the meaning of the name is uncorrupted so that we could possibly discern the purpose or the sign they were intended to portray.
  • Greeks. In the seventh century before Christ, the poet Homer mentioned Pleiades, Hyades, Sirius, Orion and the Bear (Iliad XVIII 486-490).
Between 127-141 AD, Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy from Egypt listed 48 constellations and 1022 stars in his book, the Almagest. As the Roman empire fell, this knowledge was lost to western Rome but was kept alive by Islam in the Byzantine empire. Ptolemy described these constellations.
    • North (21 Constellations). Little Bear, Great Bear, Dragon [Draco], Cepheus, Ploughman, Northern Crown, Kneeler [Hercules], Lyre, Bird [Cygnus], Cassiopeia, Perseus, Charioteer (Auriga], Serpent Holder, Serpent [Serpens], Arrow, Eagle, Dolphin, Forepart of Horse [Equuleus], Horse, Andromeda, Triangle.
    • Zodiac (12 Constellations). Ram, Bull, Twins, Crab, Lion, Virgin, Scales [Claws], Scorpion, Archer, Goat-horned, Water-pourer, Fishes.
    • South (15 Constellations). Sea-Monster [Whale], Orion, River, Hare, Dog [Greater Dog], Dog's Forerunner [Lesser Dog], Argo, Watersnake, Bowl, Raven, Centaur, Beast [Wolf], Censer [Altar], Southern Crown, Southern Fish.
  • Babylonians. Their calendar was also similar to the Hebrews with twelve months of thirty days. Some names of the Jewish months were still from the Babylonian roots. Daniel was a slave in Babylon at the time when astrologers advised the king. The Mul.Apin ("the plow") is a series of cuneiform texts dated to about 687 BC which were discovered in Babylon. The information on those tablets were estimated to date thousands of years before. It lists constellations, stars, planets, the monthly rising and setting stars on the horizon and eighteen constellations along the path of the moon through the stars. They are the earliest evidence that we have about what the ancients knew. But we must always remember that by that time they were worshipping these objects.

Star The Two Hemispheres.
Our analysis is based only on the constellations in the northern hemisphere. This is because the ancients lived in an area where the southern hemisphere could not be seen. The arrangement of both the hemispheres tell the story of life on earth and reflect some beliefs in many cultures about the structure of the earth.
  • The Northern Hemisphere. This region maps the struggle of the great controversy and many of the events that occurred in heaven. It is the battle between good and evil, the struggle to save the princess from the dragon.
  • The Southern Hemisphere. This is the underworld, the land of the dead. It is the water world and the raging sea where the wicked live. The names in that region were named around the seventeenth century and so do not reflect the names that were given by God. They were named after sea creatures to follow the accepted convention. But there is one constellation in this hemisphere that needs no explanation. It is crux.
    • Crux ("The Southern Cross"). Located in the southern hemisphere, it represents the death and method of death of Christ and the time when Christ would descend into hell, the southern hemisphere below the earth.
    • Kappa Crucis ("The Jewel Box"). This is a cluster of over 100 stars in Crux. It has many stars of different colors. The Jewel box is the ark of the covenant and the mercy seat. When it was opened the rest of the plan was revealed. It reminds us that because of the cross, Christ opened up the rainbow plan. The different phases of the plan of salvation through the colors began.
  • The Ecliptic. This is the band between the hemispheres where the earth travels through the constellations of the zodiac. It symbolizes the events that occurred on earth. In this area we see the figure of the serpent who lives in the sea and encircles the earth. Capricorn, the sea goat also lives there. Symbolically, the region in the south is the waters of the abyss where the serpent swims.
  • The Milky Way. The earth is located near the edge of one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way galaxy called the "Orion Spur". To reach the center of the galaxy, we have to travel towards the constellation Sagittarius. Some constellations in the milky way are Orion, Perseus, Cassiopeia, Cephus, Cygnus, Sagittarius and Opiuchus.
  • The Great Rift. This is a series of dark, obscuring dust clouds in the milky way between the constellations of Sagittarius and Cygnus. This is a perfect representation of the abyss in the millennium or the fires of hell which sends them into the total darkness of death. It occurs after the second coming and is a part of the end of all things.

The Milky Way. It stretches from the constellation of Orion to Scorpio then back to Orion. It is symbolic of the clouds of the second coming which will occur in the global Autumn. Its origin in Orion is a reminder to Adventists that Christ will come through this constellation, riding on the clouds of Heaven.
The constellations of the zodiac that rule the sky during the year also correlate with the seasons. They are the stars that appear in the region of the sky where the earth travels during the year that it revolves around the sun. The Bible mentions the constellations but it does not list any of them. Most of these constellations are not mentioned by name in the bible, so use this information as an interesting coincidence and not a point of doctrine. From the last quarter of the moon to the next, a different constellation dominates the sky. They can be used as a guide for the seasons.
» The Purpose of the Stars. The constellations are currently used by the false science of astrology to predict the future of individuals. But they appear to be meant to only predict the future of the planet. This is how they are signs.

Star Other Constellations.
The names and locations of the constellations above the zodiac have a very intriguing pattern also. We know that the Greeks and native Americans identified the constellation Scorpio. So at some point the ancients had access to the same set of knowledge through a common ancestor. Even though some of the names are clearly Greek mythology, we will assume that the Greeks used a hero that was similar to the personality that was described by the original name. If the constellations were named by God, then we can see a curious correlation between the ruling constellation and the phase of the plan of salvation. These are not random patterns and names chosen from anywhere across the sky to make a point. These constellations appear in a specific order and a specific season in the northern hemisphere during a season where they demonstrate the progress of the great war between good and evil and the plan of salvation.

A logical argument could be made that the ancients named the constellations according to the activities they did during that season. And, because the Bible uses the agricultural cycle to explain the Plan of Salvation these two sets of symbols are bound to collide. However, that does not explain why many Bible symbols that are not related to the agricultural cycle coincide with the names of the constellations in the appropriate season, especially those in the spring and autumn.
Finally, our analysis is limited to what the ancients knew, especially knowledge that existed before Daniel. If they are a prophecy of the future after Christ then we must use names that were assigned before the crucifixion.
Babylon We will use this symbol to indicate how the older Babylonian name influences the meaning.
Spring. New life begins. God comes as the Messiah to pay the debt for sin and save us from the death sentence. He brought the gift of eternal life from God and defeated Satan.
Spring Season
The Victory of the Ram
  • Ram (Aries). Christ, the ram is sacrificed for sin in this season and goes in "the belly of the sea monster". The Pleiades that represent the seven branches of the menorah is next to the constellation Aries. So at the crucifixion we have several wonderful images of Christ. The North Star above, the Pleiades, the full moon and Aries.
Babylon "The Hired Hand". Christ also purchased our salvation with His own blood. In this respect He is the one who was hired out as the payment for our salvation when He died as the Ram on the altar.
  • Bull (Taurus). Christ is represented by several sacrificial animals. The bull is the one who carries a yoke on its shoulders. Christ carried the cross beam of the cross on His shoulder to bear the burden of sins for us.
  • Twins (Gemini). This is harder to determine. Since the other spring symbols represent the covenant role of God, this probably represents His work.
» Jesus (Humanity and Divinity). Jesus broken in two.
» Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Together they would complete the plan of salvation on the earth. Christ justifies us with His blood and the Holy Spirit sanctifies us by writing the law in our hearts.
» The Holy Spirit and the Church. It could represent the fact that the Holy Spirit is now our constant companion.
» The Church. But it could also represent the division of the church. The church was deliberately and temporarily separated into two branches of Jews and Gentiles by the will of God after the crucifixion.
The Other Constellations. The spring constellations are full of the symbols of the sacrifice of Christ.
  • Auriga ("The Chariot Driver"). The throne of God is a chariot on wheels. After the death of Christ the temple of God was opened to reveal the throne or the ark of the covenant.
Babylon "The Old One". He is the "ancient of Days" whose throne is a chariot on wheels.
The Ancient of Days. I kept looking until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow and the hair of His head like pure wool His throne was ablaze with flames, its wheels were a burning fire. I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. (Daniel 7: 9, 13)
  • Perseus ("The Medusa Slayer"). This was the hero who killed Medusa, the monster with many heads. God will kill the dragon with seven heads. In fact, during the summer period, the dragon was given a deadly wound at the end of 1798. Michael is the hero who defeated the seven headed dragon as soon as He escaped from the earth.
And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelation 12: 7-9)
Babylon "The Agrarian Worker". He is the "Son of Man" who came to the "Old One". As the farmer he was the Good Shepherd. He treads the winepress alone and planted Himself as the Seed that would give life.
  • Orion ("The Hunter"). When Christ died for us did He "loose the cords of Orion" to set us free? Or was Orion the one who needed to be loosed from cords that bound him? This means that Satan is the hunter who has bound us and Christ has freed us from his bonds? Or Christ is Orion who was bound on the cross in order to free us from the bonds of sin. Isaiah confirms this reasoning.
Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? (Isaiah 58: 6)
Babylon "The Loyal Shepherd of Heaven". The most ancient form of the name indicates that this is Christ, not Satan. He is the Good Shepherd who went searching for His sheep and gave His life for them. As we look at the suffering of Christ and the words of Isaiah we can now say that Christ was the one who was bound to a yoke in the form of a cross. This sacrifice set us free from our bonds.
» Resurrection. He was also loosed from the bonds of Sheol where He was chained a prisoner.
  • Babylon Camelopardalis ("The Crooked Staff"). The current name of "giraffe" makes no sense but the Babylonian name does. When Christ died, His shepherd's staff became a royal scepter when He was crowned King of kings and it will become a "rod of Iron" at the Second Coming. The fact that it is symbolized shows the importance of this staff. Moses used a staff as a visual symbol to defeat Pharaoh and to part the Red Sea. The crooked or bent staff of the Shepherd is an important symbol of power.
» Passover. On the first Passover they ate quickly standing up with a staff in hand. The staff is a symbol of rest on their long journey.
  • Pleiades ("The Seven Sisters"). Jesus is the good and loyal Shepherd of heaven who who holds the seven stars in His hands just as Orion holds the Pleiades.
The seven sisters also remind us of the seven branched candle stick. But the government of Satan also appears to have a series of seven heads in the heavens, even before the birth of Christ. So what does this mean? Did Christ "bind the chains of the Pleiades", when He bound the power of Satan? And are the Pleiades the stars that fell, the seven headed monster that was killed by Perseus?
Then another sign appeared in heaven; and look, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns and on his head were seven diadems. And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. (Revelation 12: 3-4)
Babylon "The Seven Stars". The Babylonian description seems to point to the seven angels of the church.
In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. (Revelation 1: 16, 20)
  • Eridanus ("The River"). After the crucifixion two great rivers of life came from God to heal us. The river of blood and a river of water. This is Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
  • Argo Navis ("The Great Ship"). This constellation appears between the end of spring to summer. The name appears to have been given during the Greek empire. It became Noah's ark to Christians or to the ancient Greeks it is the ship sailed by Jason and his Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece. The constellation is now divided into four (Carina, Puppis, Vela and Pyxis). It is a ship of refuge for heroes. This is Jesus and his fishermen disciples on an epic journey to offer Himself as the slain Lamb of God. He will provide Himself as the Golden fleece. The fishermen disciples would carry the Gospel to the world.
Babylon "Bow, Arrow, Harrow (tiller) and Goddess of Motherhood". The Babylonians described these constellations which were later called Argo Navis. If you assume that the world is the field, then the harrow is used to dig up and plough the ground to plant the seed. The church is the woman or the mother who gives birth and the bow and arrow are used to hunt. All these symbols define the work of the church that is about to begin production in the field to bring in food and game which would be done by Perseus, the farmer.
Although the use of the ship symbol appears to be a latter assignation, yet the thinking of the ancients is fascinating because another set of prophetic symbols of Jacob clearly have a ship of fishermen as one of the key aspects during the last week in the life of Jesus.
  • Canis Major, Canis Minor and Lupus ("The Dogs and the Wolf"). These are the dogs of Orion. These are the wolves and dogs that surrounded Christ at His crucifixion.
For dogs have surrounded me, a band of evil doers has encompassed Me. They pierced My hands and feet. Save Me from the lion's mouth, from the horns of the wild oxen You answer Me. (Psalm 22: 21)
As the Good Shepherd, Orion He does not flee at the sign of the wolf.
He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. (John 10: 12)
He is also the Hired Hand Aries, and Perseus, the owner of the sheep who does not flee.
Babylon Canis Minor ("The Rooster"). This may be the rooster who crowed when Peter denied Christ.
» The Signs in the Spring. The ancients who scarcely had written materials could remember God's plan in their rituals and in the picture writing in the sky. Every spring they looked forward to the coming lamb of God and God reminded them through the feasts and the stars. Now, after Christ, every spring, as we celebrate the Passover and spring feasts we remember that Jesus Christ died for our sins and as we look at the signs in the heavens at this time they also speak of this glorious victory. So we can be assured that just as these signs were fulfilled in their season that the rest of the Plan of Salvation written in the sky will be accomplished in order in their season.

Summer Season
Here Comes the Bride
Summer. The season of heat. This is symbolic of the persecution that the church experienced for 1260 years under papal Rome and for about 300 years under Pagan Rome. At the end of the period, the shepherd emerges with the sheep. This is the bride dressed in white.
  • Crab or Crayfish (Cancer). In the summer the world is in the grips of an unclean and vicious animal. The wicked in the roaring sea are ruled by a crab.
In the heavens above this constellation, Hydra, the water snake stretches all the way from Gemini to Libra. This represents the rule of the serpent, Satan who rules the troubled sea until the judgment convenes in Libra.
  • Lion (Leo). We have a possible dual image here. On the one hand, Jesus who is the lion of the tribe of Judah is with His church during this intense period. On the other hand, Satan walks about as a roaring lion to devour what he can.
  • Virgin or Maiden (Virgo). The harvest season begins with the pure church emerging from the summer of persecution. She is ready for the judgment which begins in the next season.
Babylon "The Seed Furrow" or "Barley Stalk". This is the church, born again as a seed that is planted. Both the seed and the virgin symbolizes innocence. This is how the church approaches the judgment.
The barley was a symbol of life coming from the dead earth. This describes the state of the church coming out of the great persecutions of the middle ages.
The Other Constellations. Just as Christ was surrounded and persecuted by dogs, so is the church persecuted by a network of wild animals as the Shepherd protects us.
  • Boötes ("The Herdsman or The Bear Driver"). This is God, the good Shepherd who personally takes care of His sheep. He guides the maiden until the judgment and drives away the wild animals.
  • Hydra ("The Sea Serpent"). Hydra is a snake with many heads. This was the water snake that rules this season. Satan is the snake that rules the sea of wicked people through a beast with seven heads. It is during this rule of the snake that persecution raged. According to Revelation 12 and 13 the dragon with seven heads stood in the water as he pursued the church.
The Seven Headed Water Beast. And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore, then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. (Revelation 13: 1)
  • Canes Venatici ("The Hunting Dogs"). More dogs are sent to persecute the church.
  • Others ("Lion, Bear, Leopard"). What are the other constellations in this region? There is a leopard (Lynx), a bear (Ursa Major), and a lion (Leo)! These are the same series of persecuting powers that began before Christ. It is in this period the full evil of these agents of Satan will be unleashed on the church. In this period, this power is defined as the combination of the three previous kingdoms.
And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth was the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. (Revelation 13: 2)
  • Crater ("The Goblet or Cup"). This is the cup of indignation which will be poured out as the wrath of God in the seven last plagues. The lesson on the Seder shows that we are living in the period of this cup of wrath.
  • Corvus ("The Crow"). The raven or crow was the first bird that Noah sent to see if the waters were drying up. They had not. Has the persecuting flood of the Middle Ages subsided enough to reap the harvest?
» The Signs in the Summer. We know that the long hot persecution by the water serpent is over and we should look for signs of the merging of the lion, leopard and bear. We also know that at this point, the third cup of the Passover is now significant. As we approach the judgment in autumn, the vials of wrath will be filled from this cup.

Autumn Season
The Defeat of the Dragon
Autumn. The harvest season. The crops in this season are the fruit harvest. In this period the judgment begins in 1844, the plagues come after one final persecution and ends in the Second Coming. Then Satan is restricted to the dark, broken earth for one thousand years with the corpses of all the wicked. At the end, Satan and all the wicked face a final judgment and are destroyed. The symbols in the sky show the total activity of Satan at the end of time. The symbols match the prophecies of the end time and the persecution before the millennium more than any other seasonal symbols.
  • Scales (Libra). The autumn continues with the fall feasts and the judgment. Scales are a symbol of judgment and this is the time for Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur. The time for judging the righteous.
  • Scorpion (Scorpio). This is a symbol of Satan and the sting of death caused by the fierce persecution. It could represent the beginning of the last persecution or the plagues or the millennium when death rules and Satan rules the empty earth of dead corpses. Scorpio is also the time of the fifth trumpet.
The Fifth Trumpet. Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Wait Until The Sealing Ends. They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man. And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
Scorpions and Locusts. The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle. They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.
Satan of the Abyss. They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon. The first woe is past; Look, two woes are still coming after these things.
    (Revelation 9: 1-12)
Babylon "Standing Gods". The stars at the end or stinger of scorpius. Michael is the God who stands up at the beginning of the final persecution.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. (Daniel 12: 1)
  • Archer (Sagittarius). This is the centaur who is half man and half horse. He aims his arrows at Scorpio. Autumn ends with the Bridegroom who comes on a white horse to slay His enemies. This is the archer on a horse at the second coming.
Babylon "Sitting Gods". The Babylonians called the front stars of Sagittarius the sitting gods. This is an accurate representation of what happens at the Second Coming.
Jesus said to him, you have said: nevertheless I say to you, after this you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (Matthew 26: 64)
The Other Constellations. Other satanic symbols rule the heavens above this constellation.
  • Ursa Major ("The Great Bear or the Plough"). The plough is a symbol of harvest which is the work of salvation in this season. We are reaped from the earth and planted in Heaven after the greatest evangelistic efforts.
  • Corona Borealis ("Northern Crown"). In the judgment, the faithful maiden gets a crown or a laurel wreath.
  • Draco ("The Dragon"). The influence of this constellation stretches across the sky all the way back to Capricorn where the sea goat caused sin to appear. This is the dragon who was thrown out of heaven (Revelation 12: 7-9).
And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea shore, Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. (Revelation 13: 1)
  • Hercules ("The Hero"). Hercules is the Greek hero who was the son of god and a human female. This sign appears with his fist at the head of Draco, the dragon and above Serpens Caput (head of the serpent). He is stomping on the head of the dragon. In this configuration it represents Jesus Christ who defeats the dragon at the end of time with a fatal head wound.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; and He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel. (Genesis 3: 15)
Babylon "The He-Goat Uz". Unbelievably, the Babylonians had two symbols for a goat! In the autumn feast of Yom Kippur there were also two goats.
    • The Lord's Goat ("Hercules"). Jesus is the hero who took our sins on Himself.
    • The ScapeGoat ("Capricorn"). Satan is the murderer who is guilty of sin.
  • Serpens ("The Serpent"). The serpent is a fitting symbol for this period. This constellation is so large that it has two sections, the head and the tail with Ophiuchus in the middle. The serpent is Satan.
  • Ophiuchus ("The Serpent Holder"). This is the serpent bearer that holds the serpent. It is fulfilled in the millennium. The water snake has been captured because of the judgment. Now he is the imprisoned serpent on a dry earth. He is the scorpion who had the sting of death. Look at the symbol from Revelation.
» The Serpent Holder of Revelation. Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. (Revelation 20: 1-2)
He also stands on the back of the scorpion. So he can crush its head, but also be wounded in his heel. This is the prophecy to Eve (Genesis 3: 15).
» The Serpent Holder of the Exodus. When Moses' dead stick came to life as the king of serpents, it swallowed up all the serpents of Pharaoh (Exodus 7: 10-12). Jesus subdued the kingdom of the serpents and He is the king of the serpents. He is the Angel who is the serpent holder.
Babylon "The Corpse". To understand this constellation you must also understand the myth about him. Ophiuchus is Aesculapius, the son of Apollo and an unfaithful human. She was punished by burning while she was still pregnant. Apollo rescued him from the corpse of his burning unfaithful mother. He later become a healer who helped humans and he even had the power of resurrection.
So Christ is the strong man who is the child of the unfaithful woman (church and Israel). He was rescued from death by God, the Father, and now has the power to raise the dead.
  • Lyra ("The Harp"). The righteous sing before God.
... and the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. (Revelation 14: 2)
Babylon Lyra ("The She-Goat"). A female goat could be used as an offering for unintentional sin by the common people. At this point in salvation history the people are being perfected and the only sin that they might commit are unintentional. This is why God said that at a certain point all those who were judged as righteous shall remain righteous. He has confidence that they will not commit a sin that is worthy of death.
  • Babylon Cygnus ("The Demon with the Gaping Mouth"). This is the dragon who sends unclean spirits like frogs out of his mouth to deceive the world (Revelation 16: 13-14).
  • Aquila ("The Eagle"). These are the unclean, carnivorous birds who are called to eat the unburied dead bodies of the wicked during the Great Rift.
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, "Come, assemble for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great." (Revelation 19: 17-18)
  • Babylon Delphinus ("The Swallow"). Unknown meaning.
» The Signs in the Autumn. In the autumn, as we gather the harvest and assemble for Yom Kippur and the feast of Tabernacles, we can look in the sky and see, the constellations that depict the judgment of Satan and the end of the world. We know that God will take hold of the serpent, the dragon Satan and end his reign of terror and remove his sting of death.
Winter. The season of cold and darkness and death begins when sin started. This is the millennium of rest.
  • The Sea Goat (Capricorn). Satan is now the scapegoat who is let loose in the wilderness after he has been subdued by the strong man, the hero Hercules. The sea is also a symbol of the wicked. So here we have a symbol of Satan among the wicked. He has been bound to the earth for the millennium. At the end of autumn he was captured by the serpent holder, now he is in prison.
  • Water Carrier (Aquarius). The water carrier dries up the waters and He comes in like a flood with His army.
  • Fish (Pisces). The great Fisherman has caught His fish in the net that He has spread.
» Leviathan is Captured. It represents Satan who is also pictured as a sea monster with a fish head.
  • (Cepheus, Cassiopeia, Andromeda). The reign of the royal family in heaven during the millennium.
    Winter Season
    The Beginning
The Other Constellations.
  • Cepheus ("The King"). Christ rules as King of kings and Lord of lords.
  • Cassiopeia ("The Queen"). The queen of heaven, the church is now in heaven where she belongs.
  • Andromeda ("The Princess"). This is the daughter of Cassiopeia who was persecuted. The constellation is also known as the chained woman.
  • Pegasus ("The Great Square").
Babylon This might represent the four corners of the earth, showing the extent of the judgment.
  • Cetus ("The Whale"). This is the great sea monster, Leviathan.

The First Winter. Since the year begins in Spring and the symbols represent the time after the crucifixion, we have the previous 4000 years unaccounted for in this celestial time table. The winter symbols seems to also describe the period before the birth of Christ.
  • Cygnus ("The Northern Cross"). In this season of death, a cross appeared in the sky. It was a prophecy of the coming death of God who was killed "at the foundation of the world".
  • The Sea Goat (Capricorn). The goat is a symbol of Satan who introduces sin to the world.
  • Water Carrier (Aquarius). This is the flood sent by God to cover the earth as a judgment against the wicked.
  • Fish (Pisces). This is the covenant people, the Jews. God went into the wicked sea to rescue the fishes from Leviathan, the big fish. The Jews were supposed to be the "fishers of men". But they failed. This title was passed on to Christians.
  • Cassiopeia ("The Queen"). The queen of heaven, the church appears at this time when God chose Israel.
A great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12: 1)
  • Andromeda ("The Princess"). This is the daughter of Cassiopeia who will be persecuted.
So the dragon was enraged with the woman and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus. (Revelation 12: 17)
  • Pegasus ("The Winged Horse"). The constellations of Pegasus and Andromeda share some of the same stars. The horse appears to be sitting on the woman. In Revelation 17, we get a picture of the corruption of the church that fits this picture. In this case the woman rides the beast.
... and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemies, having seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17: 3)
Babylon "The Great Square". This might represent the four corners of the earth, showing the extent of the judgment.
  • Cetus ("The Whale"). This is the great sea monster, Leviathan. This is a picture of the transition of Satan from the goat to the monster. A clean animal to an unclean one. This constellation crosses over to the time of Aries. Is it a sign of Jesus in the belly of the great fish?
In the Bowels. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12: 40)
» The Signs in the Winter. The winter is a sign of rest for the earth and a reminder that we will be royalty in heaven.
» The Three Wise Men (Magi). Perhaps the timetable in the constellations were given to the ancients as a prophecy to which they could look forward. Certainly the wisemen from the east, from Babylon, were able to look at the stars and understand that the eternal spring season had arrived in a baby who was born as the King of the Jews. We do not have enough information to determine how they knew that from the stars. But in the summer constellation of Leo there are several clues.
  • Leo ("The Lion"). The lion of the tribe of Judah.
  • Regulus ("The Little King"). This is a star in the heart of Leo.
  • Zosma ("The Star of Kings"). This is a star on the back of Leo.
  • Pisces and Aries. These constellations are associated with the Jews according to some sources.
  • Jupiter. This is supposed to be a royal planet and Saturn was an evil planet.
If there was a cosmic event that brightened this region of the heavens around 4BC then we can see how they determined that a great king would be born. But how did they determine that this king would be born among the Jews? They either assigned a star or segment of the skies to different nations or they assigned a cycle of years to each nation so that any activity in Leo would be about the nation assigned to the current year. The Jews who never returned from captivity could have influenced the Babylonians and Persians about the Messiah king who was to be born. Daniel, who defeated the astrologers in the realm of prophecy, might have influenced how they looked at the stars.
But the inescapable fact remains that God allowed a group of astrologers to be guided to the Messiah. Since the ancient and current practice of astrology is an abomination, they must have used astrology in an uncorrupted way.
The Time Table in the Sanctuary.
Furniture Heaven Meaning Purpose
Ark of the Covenant Sun God The throne of God
Menorah (Seven Branches) Moon, Stars Church Provides light for the sanctuary
Altar of Incense Cloud Prayer Shield and opportunity for communication
Curtain and the Blue Veil in the Roof Sky Protection Separates the rooms
Roof: Blue Linen Veil (28 x 40 cubits) Lunar Time Eternal Time Inner covering. He is our righteousness
Roof: Goat skin (30 x 44 (42) cubits) Solar Time Time of sin Second layer of covering. He became sin for us
The representation of the heavenly bodies is only seen in the Holy place. The most holy place represents where God is, somewhere beyond the veil of the skies.
  • Sky (firmament). The blue veil above and of the curtains at the two doors represents the arch of the blue sky.
  • Sun. The sun is represented by the shekinah glory of God bursting out of the Most Holy Place.
  • Moon. The menorah represents the moon and the light of the world while we are under of the veil of darkness called sin. It is the church and the scriptures that reflect the knowledge of God.
  • Stars. The seven branches of the menorah also represent the stars. They more accurately represent the prophets or the messengers to the church.
  • Cloud. The incense which goes up in a cloud of smoke represents our prayers rising to God. It also shield us from God because we cannot live in His presence at this time. So He shields Himself with a cloud and hides behind a veil so that we can approach Him without dying.

The Calendar in the Sanctuary.
The roof in the sanctuary shows two cycles of time that govern the earth.
  1. Solar Time. The goat's hair covering was made of eleven panels that were four cubits wide. The total size was thirty cubits long and forty four cubits wide. The last panel was folded in two, cutting it short to forty two cubits wide. In these numbers you can see two periods of time given to evil. The wicked are always given forty two periods of time. There are thirty days in this solar month.
  2. Lunar Time. The inner covering was made of ten panels, four cubits wide. The total size was twenty eight cubits long and forty cubits wide. This is the time given to the righteous. Forty periods of time under a lunar calendar of twenty eight days.

The Date and Time of the Crucifixion.
In other prophecies we show that the scriptures predict the year, day and time that Jesus would die. This would be Friday, Nisan 14, in the year 31 AD at about 3:00PM or the same time the Passover lamb was being sacrificed.
Cross Between the Two Rooms (The Year). (4100)

The world, Jews and Christians each got about 2000 years. The forty four periods of time are from the Noah to the end of time. The forty periods of time are from Abraham to the end of time. The forty two periods of time are from Babel to the end of time. Each panel represents about 400 years.
The veil between the holy place and the most holy place was torn in two at the moment Christ died. This veil hung up on four hooks represents His torn body hung up on four nails, suspended between heaven and earth on the cross. This veil separated the earth from the physical presence of God where God was hidden behind the veil. The death of Christ opened up the way between the world living in the shadows and the God hidden behind the veil.

The veil that separated the two rooms was hung up under the fabric roofs at the middle point. The roof was made of two sets of curtains, each with several panels. The roof over the Holy Place was eleven panels and the Most Holy Place was ten panels. The torn veil was hung between them.
Each panel represents a section of time. So the time of the crucifixion represents a time that is between the old covenant and the new covenant. Before the cross, the Jews had received two thousand years under the covenant. The Christian church would receive two thousand years also.
Cross Between the Two Evenings (The Date and Hour): Nisan 14. 3:00PM
Speak to the children of Israel saying, "on the tenth of this month they are each one to take a lamb for themselves, according to their father's households, a lamb for each household".
... You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to kill it between the two evenings.
(Exodus 12: 3,6)

- From Two Evenings To -
The day was divided into twelve hours
The night was divided into four watches

The phrase "between the two evenings" is sometimes translated as twilight. This is the time between the hour when the sun started going down and sunset. The ancients called two sections of the day "evening".
  1. Evening ("Night"). First there is the evening or dark part of the day which God refers to as "the evening and the morning" which make up an entire day.
  2. Little Evening ("Twilight"). Second, the light part or morning part of the day was divided into two sections. We now call them the morning and the afternoon. The ancients called them the morning and the little evening or twilight. This evening started after noon (the sixth hour) and ends before sunset (the twelfth hour). So the time half way between the evenings was 3:00 PM our time or the ninth hour in ancient time.
So the time of the death by crucifixion was the time of the death of the Passover lamb, at the ninth hour (3:00 PM).

The Passover Lamb Arrives: (Palm Sunday or Palm Monday)?
This lamb was selected on the tenth of the month and examined for defects. (Exodus 12: 3). Jesus rode in on a donkey and was selected as the King by the cheering crowd who laid palm branches on the road. If Jesus rode in during the daylight hours, then this occurred on Monday not on Sunday because Nisan 10 started at sunset on Sunday!
On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel". (John 12: 12-13)
Cross Between the Two Evenings (The Year): 4000-4125
If we divide the six thousand years since creation into four phases of the moon, then each phase starts every 1500 years. But if the lunar phase also includes the millennium, then each phase is 1750 years.
  • New Moon (0). This is probably the beginning of sin not the creation.
  • First Quarter (1750). Abraham is called and a covenant is given.
  • Full Moon (3500). The Messiah comes. The people are released from Babylon with a Messianic prophecy that begins its count down here.
» Christ (4000-4125). Christ was killed and the sanctuary was destroyed between the evenings, about half way between the full moon and the last quarter.
Since there are twelve hours in this period, each hour would represent 125 years. Jesus died around the ninth hour. This is year 4125. The eighth hour is year 4000 since the creation. Since we do not know when sin occurred, we have a variance of up to 130. Seth was born 130 years after the creation.
  • Last Quarter (5250). The light of the Reformation begins to shine as the inquisition begins, 1750 years after the Babylonian captivity.

Cross The Day of the Week: Friday
We know that He was crucified on Nisan 14, but what day of the week was this? Passover began on the evening of Nisan 14 with the Passover meal. This was the "last supper" that Jesus had with His disciples. The next day, Nisan 15 was a Sabbath. These feast Sabbaths can occur on any day of the week and they could be different from the weekly Sabbath.
Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. (John 19: 31)
  • High Sabbath. When Jesus was crucified, the Sabbath was a "high Sabbath". This means that the weekly Sabbath and the feast Sabbath occurred on the same day. So if Nisan 15 was from Friday evening to Saturday sunset, then Nisan 14 was Thursday evening to Friday sunset.
  • Preparation Day. The preparation day was the day before the Sabbath.
    - Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

    - Gethsemane
    Nisan 12 Nisan 13 Nisan 14 Nisan 15 Nisan 16
Day 4 Day 5 Preparation Sabbath Day 1
  • Three Days and Nights. Christians agree that Jesus was resurrected on Sunday morning, they do not agree that He died on Friday. The problem has been created by the text which says that Jesus was "in the bowels of the earth" for three days and three nights.
In the Bowels. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12: 40).
No one knows what that phrase means. Some assume that He would be in the grave for three days and three nights. This has caused some people to claim that the crucifixion occurred on Wednesday. But that fact would not make the Sabbath a high Sabbath. Jesus was still on the cross on Friday, the preparation day. They asked for permission to remove Him before the high Sabbath began.
In the lesson on Christ, we show that this phrase means that He was given up to be abused by the world for three days and nights. This started from the last supper when Judas went to betray Him, to His agonizing prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, His beating, trial, humiliation, abandonment and death. Before this time, Jesus always escaped the mob who wanted to kill Him. This time He would be handed over to the mob. His agony started on Thursday night, the beginning of Nisan 14, when the Passover meal was celebrated. It ended just before sunset on the first day, because He saw His disciples on Sunday evening (afternoon) after His resurrection (John 20: 19).

Cross The Calendar Year: 31AD
In the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah in Daniel 9, we prove that the Messiah would come 483 - 490 years after the Jews were freed from their captivity in Babylon. This date was calculated as 31AD. This date was also verified by another prophecy about the length of His life.
But can we calculate or verify the date in any other way? By using the information we know about the calendar at the time of the crucifixion, we can see which years match the pattern. But first we need to know how the Jews determined their calendar. It was not based on calculations, the final decision was based on observation.
  • Month. The date of the new moon is determined by observation. The month always begins with the new moon. Two witnesses would go to the Sanhedrin and testify that they saw the new moon. There are two possible events that determine the beginning of the new moon.
    • Molad (Invisible Conjunction). This is the true new moon, when the moon is completely dark.
    • First Visibility. This is the point after the invisible conjunction when the first crescent of light is visible. It took at least fifteen hours for it to be seen after the molad. Then it has to be seen immediately after sunset. This usually occurred the day after the molad and sometimes two days later. This is the date used for Nisan 1. Other than Jewish custom, how do we know that this was used in the days of Christ and not the true molad? We can look at the symbol. The new moon is a celebrated event for eternity (Isaiah 66: 22-23). If they celebrated the darkness of the molad then they would be celebrating the triumph of darkness over light. But if they celebrated the first sliver of light, then it is a hopeful affirmation of the future that the light will continue to pierce the darkness. They did not celebrate the darkness, they celebrated the light.
» Rosh Chodesh (Head of the Month). Every new moon was a celebration. After the first sliver of the Moon appeared, the witnesses would testify to the Sanhedrin about when and where they saw the Moon and in which direction it was pointing. Messengers would be sent to the people to tell them when the month began. They would have a celebration the day after.
  • Year. The Jewish calendar was also observational for the beginning of the new year. The year should begin in spring some time near the end of March. The start of the year depends on the availability of the barley harvest which was needed to perform the Passover rituals for the wavesheaf offerings (Leviticus 23: 9-12).
Supposedly, in Palestine, the barley harvest is never ripe until April. If the harvest was not ready, the month would be postponed until the next new moon. This postponement actually accomplishes what the modern calendar does. This synchronized the solar and lunar calendars. But the ancient calendar was not based on adding a leap month at precise years, it is based on adding a leap month when the time drifted earlier into the winter and the harvest was not ready. A new year is now determined by several methods.
    • Equinox. Vernal equinox is the traditional beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern hemisphere. It occurs around March 20. It is a day when the length of day and night are equal. While the Jews did not use this method, it is at least useful for indicating when the astronomical spring began and the possible state of the barley harvest.
    • Calculation. Modern calendars are solar and they are developed by calculation and adjusting for the leap year. So that the start of the new year is predictable. The ancient Jewish calendar did not follow this method. But the modern Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar developed in 359AD. It is based on calculation and the use of rules that did not exist in the time of Christ. While the month is based on the new moon, the start of the year is not based on the observations required by scripture. As a result, Nisan sometimes occurs too early, before spring begins.

The Crucifixion Year Calendar.
Even if we do not know the precise year of the crucifixion, we know what the Jewish calendar should look like for the month of Nisan. Nisan 14 must begin on Thursday night. Therefore, the molad of the new moon must be on a Thursday night and Nisan 1 must be on a Friday night, on the Sabbath.
Expert Calculated Dates.
Scholars use two basic methods to estimate the crucifixion year. They are based on finding a solar eclipse in Nisan because an eclipse occurred at noon during the crucifixion. They choose a year between 28AD to 33AD because these are the most likely years of the crucifixion.
But this is false. In fact it is impossible.
» An Impossible Solar Eclipse. This event was a miracle, because it is not possible for a solar eclipse to occur during a full moon. Only lunar eclipses occur during a full moon, solar eclipses or dark days only occur during a new moon at the beginning of the month. Jesus died in the middle of the month on Nisan 14, during a full moon.
  • Historical Solar Eclipse. Although records describe solar eclipses, they are too vague to determine what year they occurred without controversy.
  • Calculated Eclipse. Fortunately, we can calculate the previous occurrences of the new moon. Unfortunately, the formula is based on a "constant" that can vary widely.

This is the proposed calendar for April in the year that Jesus was crucified.
The calendar is Gregorian, but the moon phase is shifted.
The new moon is on Thursday April 10 at 11:32 (UT), instead of April 8.
The vernal equinox occurred on March 23.
Nisan dates are in blue.
None of these years are 31 AD. This is not a surprise. We cannot use solar eclipses on Passover to determine the crucifixion year.

So we cannot look for a solar eclipse, but we can look for the dates of the full moon and see which one had Nisan 14 on a Friday.
The NASA calculated molad in 31 AD was Tuesday, April 8 at 11:32 (UT). In fact, in order to place Nisan 1 on a Friday, the day would have to shift over two days after the calculated molad. I discovered several things in verifying the new moons in March and April of that year.
  • Modern Jewish Calendar (31 AD). The calendar has Nisan 1, 31 AD beginning in March not April. But they do not rely on observation and this date is before the equinox so it was probably too early. This calendar also has other rules of postponement that were invented in 359 AD. So it is unreliable for determining some past rules.
  • Molad. The new moon was not counted from the molad by the Jews. The Muslims start at the molad.
  • Sliver of the Moon. The rules can cause the first day of the month to be postponed a day or two later (April 9-10).
  • The Scientifically Calculated Synodic Month (29.272 to 29.833 days). The wide range of the value of the time between one new moon and the next can vary the actual value by about seven hours in one cycle. If these can accumulate, it could cause a variance of three days in any ten new moons and we are counting back over 26,000 new moons. So the conditions at the crucifixion are all a best guess! Proofs based on calculated new moon cycles are not definitive! These scientifically calculated crucifixion dates are bogus on two levels.
    • The Formula. The calculation can legitimately vary too much and it is impossible to reconcile because any random, passing object can change the motion of the moon.
    • Darkness. The source of the dark day could not be a normal solar eclipse which can be calculated.
This fact can cause the new moon to change by several days over 2000 years.
  • Ancient References. Are there ancient records with dates? Some of the dates assigned to these references are based on modern calculations, not on a historically recorded date. Scientists calculate the date and try to match it with the historical description. In some instances, when the date did not match a calculated date the assumption was that the ancient reference "must be wrong", even though our mathematical formula is not reliable.

I chose solar eclipse references because they can only occur on a new Moon. Then I calculated the full Moon.

Methodology.
Starting from the new moon on January 20, 1890, I generated a cycle that went back to the time of Christ using a value of 29.5305 for the synodic month to generate the calendar that fits our requirements.
I assumed that most of the calculated dates up to 100AD were correct, even though I had some issues with at least two dates. I did not attempt to calculate eclipses because the crucifixion eclipse is a miracle that cannot be calculated. I calculated new moons and full moons which mark dates of possible normal eclipses and helps to establish a lunar calendar. I checked my accuracy by comparing the new moon dates with dates of recorded eclipses.

» Results. The calculated dates were within hours of the NASA date. And for the solar eclipse of October 590, we were closer to the "middle of the month".

» The Crucifixion Year. The new moon was on Thursday, April 12, 31AD (Julian) which was April 10 (Gregorian). The full moon was on April 24.
Historical References.
Dating methods are generally relative times based on important events.
  • Reign of Kings. Most date events by the reign of kings. This is the method in the events of the bible.
  • Important Person. Our BC/AD method is based on the birth of Christ.
  • Olympiad. An Olympiad is a cycle of four years which are associated with the Olympic games of Greece. So the first olympiad began with the first games about 776 BC.

Here are two historical references related to the time of the ministry of Christ.
Baptism. Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrach of Galilee ... When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age. (Luke 3: 1, 23)
Crucifixion Eclipse? Jesus Christ, according to the prophecies, which had been spoken about him beforehand, came to the Passion in the 18th year of Tiberius, at which time also we find these things written verbatim in other commentaries of the gentiles: ... "In the fourth year of the 202nd Olympiad, there was an eclipse of the sun, greater than any which had occurred previously. At the sixth hour, the day became as dark as night, and the stars were visible in the sky. An earthquake in Bithynia destroyed many buildings in Nicaea."
Phlegon, Olympiades, fragment 17; also Jerome Chronicles.

The Astronomical Miracles.
  • Joshua Stopped the Sun and Moon (Joshua 10: 12-15). He probably stopped the spinning of the earth on its axis, stopped the revolution of the moon but continued their revolution around the sun.
  • Isaiah Brings the Shadow Ten Steps Back (12 Hours) (2 Kings 20: 11). This event occurred around 712BC. During that century it appeared that all calendars started drifting five days. The Ancients seemed to have a reliable calendar of thirty days every month. Then the time started shifting in that century. If Isaiah made the sun go back during one day, then this made the day longer. One way to do this is to slow down the earth so that it takes longer than 360 days to revolve around the sun. So the miracle caused time to increase by 101.389% and that appeared to continue forever. This is about one third of an hour or twenty minutes each day.
» How Did He Do it? He rewound the whole universe and restarted every planet at the position 12 hours earlier.
  • The Star of Bethlehem. At his birth there was an astronomical phenomenon that caused the Babylonian astrologists to come searching for the Messiah. There was a super nova, a comet, two minor alignments of four planets and a new star appeared in the constellation Virgo.
» How Did He Do it? It could be caused by a cloud of angels, or the explosion of a star or both.
  • The Impossible Solar Eclipse of the Crucifixion. There was an impossible solar eclipse during the full Moon at His death. It lasted three hours, while normal solar eclipses last up to 8 minutes. What could have caused this and how did it affect the orbit of the Moon? If it could be easily explained then it would not be a miracle. But it could be the same phenomenon as below.
» How Did He Do it? The sun could have become one giant sun spot. This would create a dark sun. Or, it could have been an extremely cloudy day.
  • The Mysterious Dark Day and Blood Moon (May 19, 1780). Another miraculous event happened that was also a part of a prophecy. It is scientifically impossible for both a solar and a lunar eclipse to happen on the same day, but it did. The darkness started after 9:00AM and the strange darkness continued until midnight in New England. When the moon was revealed after midnight, it was a blood red color. The calculated values show that a partial lunar eclipse occurred on May 18 at 10:58 UT.
The one constant about these two miracles (the dark day of 1780 and the crucifixion) is that the solar eclipse was impossible, but a lunar eclipse was possible.
Therefore we should never assume that any miracle announced by God can be calculated and predicted based on the normal cycles. A miracle is supposed to be an event that cannot be explained by predictable events.

The dates of the feasts coincide very closely with the important phases of the moon. The table shows the spring and autumn feasts in parallel to illustrate that the same type of event occurs in each phase; first to Christ, then to the church.
  • Day 1 (Covenant). This represents a solemn time of great spiritual darkness. In this time, we need God, He represents Himself through the law and the covenant. The law shows us what we are doing wrong, and the covenant tells us what God will do to help us out of this darkness. God reaches out in the darkness.
  • Day 10 (Righteous Selected). On the tenth day, the righteous is selected. The Passover lamb was chosen on the tenth. I am not sure when the Lord's goat was selected for Yom Kippur. This was fulfilled when Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and He was overwhelmingly hailed as king.
In the autumn feasts, the day of atonement began in 1844. In this judgement, the righteous are selected.
  • Day 14 (Protection). On the fourteenth day the righteous are protected. When Christ died as the Passover Lamb it signified that death has passed over us.
During the autumn feasts, the world will be suffering through the seven last plagues, but the righteous will be protected by God while they are still on earth.
  • Day 15-21 (No Sin Remains). Day 15 is always a Sabbath. This period represents the sinless living with God. No sin remains among the righteous. Leaven represents sin. During the spring feast all leaven was removed from the home. Sin had been removed through the death of Christ. Christ Himself, went to heaven to be presented as the sacrificed lamb and the wavesheaf offering so that He could become the High Priest. In the autumn feast, the righteous will go to live with God for one thousand years.

Using the symbol of the sun representing God and the moon representing the church, here is the history of the world.
  • Sun Light. Creation. God comes and brings light and creates a perfect world.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light", and there was light. (Genesis 1: 1-3)
  • Eclipse Darkness: Solar Annular Eclipse (Sin). When sin began, the world entered into one long night of sin where the moon is the major source of light. The righteous people became the source of knowledge about God. But, evidence of God is still visible, because the light of God shines around the circumference of the annular eclipse.
For the next six thousand years, the church would reflect this little light. And the phases of the moon would represent the light from the church to the world.

    • New moon New Moon. (0-1750). After sin, darkness came to the world. This represents the time from sin to the flood and the rebellion at the tower of Babel. Noah was the sliver of light in this age of the new moon.
    • First quarter First Quarter. (1750-3500). After the flood, God called Abraham and light came to the world through the covenant and Israel. The light side of the moon now faces the future. After the covenant, God would act to actively bring more light to the world. This was through Israel, the miracles of the exodus, the ten commandments on Mount Sinai and the teachings about the sanctuary and feasts. He would enshrine His light into the people who represented Him until He came at the full moon.
    • Full moon Full Moon. (3500-5250). It is now the middle of the dark day on earth. So as the world chose to retreat into more darkness, God revealed more light. Christ comes in this period and He is murdered. As a human and a member of the church, His presence on the earth represents the full moon shining on the earth. So God becomes all in all. He is now both the Sun and the Moon.
The law came in so that transgression would increase, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. (Romans 5: 20)
As He left and the early apostles died, the church shifted into a state of the waning moon. Less light was visible from the church.

This appearance of God, the law, the prophets, the covenant and the Messiah in the fourth millennium are also represented by the fact that the sun, moon and stars were created on the fourth day.
    • Last quarter Last Quarter. (5250-7000). During the 1260 years from 538AD to the Second Coming, the moon shows even lesser light. Notice that the dark side of the moon in the last quarter faces the future, while the light side faces the past, towards Christ.
This is frankly a very disturbing and gloomy picture of the future as far as the faithfulness and effectiveness of the last church is concerned. Darkness appears to win at the very end. Jesus had the same concerns.
... However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth? (Luke 18: 8)
Angel 1Angel 2Angel 3 Supernatural Light. Revelation also paints a gloomy picture of the last church. Laodicea was the only church who was not praised. How can God allow this? The answer must come in His own supernatural intervention, rather than in the work of the church. If the moon will not shine, then the sun will shine. This cannot be represented in the natural phases of the moon. We must look to the higher symbols for an answer.
After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. (Revelation 18: 1)
We pass from the night of darkness to the light of day at the very end when the three angel's message is preached. God turns on the light searches for His sheep Himself (Ezekiel 34: 11-16).
Then, at the second coming, that brief sunlight immediately undergoes a solar eclipse for the millennium.
    • Lunar Eclipse Total Eclipse (Millennium). After the Second Coming the world enters into a phase of total solar and lunar eclipse imposed by God. The wicked are dead. The church is missing from the world and there is no light in the world.
God represents this spiritual reality by bringing physical darkness to the world for one thousand years. This apparent solar eclipse is either caused by the dust from the damaged earth, blotting out the sun in a nuclear winter. Or it could be caused by the light from the sun being extinguished.
Neither God nor His prophets nor the church is here, so the spiritual sun, the stars and moon do not shine. And if the spiritual lights do not shine, then the physical lights will be extinguished.
I saw the earth, and, look, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I saw the mountains, and, look, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I looked, and there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I looked, and the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities there were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. For this has the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. (Jeremiah 4: 23-27)
The spiritual darkness of this era is represented by physical darkness from these sources.
      • New Moon. We are in the period of the waning moon. This is dark because there is no sun.
      • Lunar eclipse. This can be very dark.
      • Solar eclipse. This brings total darkness.
      • Massive Atmospheric Pollution. This blocks sunlight.
"Unclean Until the Evening". This phrase occurs with many rituals. It is a representation of the fact that we will all be unclean until the Second Coming, when the sun sets on the earth.
but when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterwards he will eat of the holy gifts, for it is his food (Leviticus 22: 7)
  • Sun Here comes the Sun! (The Third Coming). Eternity. At the beginning of the eighth millennium, the sun comes again as God and the church returns to the world. In this age the sun never sets, so the light of the moon loses its significance. In fact, God becomes the light so that even the sun is hidden.
At the beginning of this bright day, the final judgment takes place. Because of the bright lights of the judgment every hidden thing is revealed.
Therefore, do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God. (1 Corinthians 4: 5)
At first, it seems that this final destruction should take place during the time of the dark symbols so that nothing corrupts this new perfect age. But the laws of God say that Judgment must not be done in the dark of night but in the light of day.
The Sabbath Day. Critics of the Sabbath say that it is impossible to determine or keep every where because the sun does not designate time as simply in places like the north and south poles. Sometimes the sun does not set for many months. The answer is that the sun and moon were the best representation of what God would do, but the system is imperfect. However, in the new earth God is the source of light and He determines the beginning and the end of the Sabbath. But while we are on earth it is our duty to do the best we can, even in the north pole.

The Covenant With The Heavens.
Time. Then God said, let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. (Genesis 1: 14).
Seasons. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8: 22)

Old Covenant Crucifixion New Covenant Eternal Covenant

God made a covenant with the heavens to provide what we need to survive during the time we would live without Him. The earth would give us food if the heavens provided light, rain and water. The sun would provide light and warmth to give us comfort, and even darkness so that we can rest. They would also indicate time.
Covenant The Rain. Water comes from the cloud in the form of rain as a source cleansing and renewal. This represents the Holy Spirit who comes from God and gives us life and cleanses us from sin by writing the law of God on our hearts.
Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3: 5)
Covenant The Cloud. The cloud gives us protection from the heat and provides rain.

Prayers. The incense created a cloud that represents the presence of God and the prayers of sinners going up to heaven. This cloud also shields us from God because we cannot live in His presence at this time.
He shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die. (Leviticus 16: 13)

Holy Spirit. He is the cleansing water and the cloud Who intervenes for us by standing between us and God.
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. (Romans 8: 26)
Covenant Year: The Equinox and the Solstice. As the earth makes its annual revolution around the sun, four important phases occur that mark the beginning of the four seasons and the beginning of the year. If we look at the action of the sun as a representation of the action of God then we can see a correlation with the Plan of Salvation.
Equinox
1 Vernal Equinox March 21-23. Day and night are equal length
2 Summer Solstice June 21-23. The sun is farthest north
3 Autumnal Equinox September 21-23. Day and night are equal length
4 Winter Solstice December 21-23. The sun is farthest south
  • Equinox. The equinox occurs when day and night are of equal length. The north and south pole are on the line between day and night. The sun is perpendicular to the equator.
    • Vernal Equinox. This is the first day of spring, at the beginning of Aries.
    • Autumnal Equinox. This is the first day of autumn, at the beginning of Libra.
At these two points all men are equal before God.
» Atonement. Christ died for our sins near the vernal equinox and all people had access to forgiveness.
» Righteous Judged. At the autumnal equinox all men stand before the throne of God and Christ chooses those who have accepted His great sacrifice.
  • Solstice. Solstice occurs when the sun reaches the maximum and minimum declination. That is the point where it goes the farthest north or the farthest south of the equator. This gives sunlight to the poles.
    • Summer Solstice. The north pole is turned as far as possible to the sun. The Sun is perpendicular above the Tropic of Cancer. Cancer marks the first day of the summer solstice.
    • Winter Solstice. The south pole is turned as far as possible to the sun. The Sun is perpendicular above the Tropic of Capricorn. Capricorn marks the first day of the winter solstice.

» Reformation. In the summer God brings more light to the whole world. This makes up for the waning moon.
» Wicked Judged. In the winter God brings the light of His judgment to the underworld and exposes all deeds.
Under ideal conditions, the vernal equinox occurs around Nisan 1 and the autumnal equinox occurs at Tishri 1. Both the feast of trumpets and the Passover period are marked by the maximum amount of light from the sun. This is the same symbolism seen in the Passover occurring under the full moon. So at the time of the maximum amount of sun everywhere on earth and the time of the maximum moon light, Christ died. Similarly, under the same maximum conditions of light from the sun and moon, God begins His judgment at the autumnal equinox because justice must be done in the light.

If the equinoxes and solstices converge with the lunar phases these are the greatest periods of natural light and natural darkness around the world. When combines with the feasts they could symbolize the reasons and the seasons behind the actions of God. Prophetic intervention is seen as a struggle between light and dark and the convergence of these periods symbolize which side is winning.
  • Eclipse The Greatest Darkness Everywhere (Midnight Nisan 1 and Tishri 1).
» Nisan 1, 31 AD. When the world was at its darkest Jesus came to Jerusalem to bring the light of God. By this time the priests were hatching a plot to kill Jesus, Judas came the following week.
» Tishri 1-10, Future. Best symbolic period for the Antichrist to appear.
An eclipse merely adds to the severity of the darkness and excess sunshine brings the heat of judgment.
  • Sun The Greatest Light Everywhere (Noon Nisan 15 and Tishri 15).
» Nisan 14, 31 AD. God sent His greatest light into the world but the people preferred darkness and shed innocent blood. The occasion called for a source of supernatural darkness so the sun was also darkened at noon.
» Tishri 15-22, Future Eclipse. Best symbolic period for the Antichrist to take up residence in the temple of God.
» Nisan 15 and Tishri 15, Future. The church begins its greatest evangelism.

» The Seasons of the North to South Journey. By law, the exodus journey of the church goes from south to north for Israel and then from the north to the south at the end. Notice what this does to the seasons during the feasts of Passover and Tabernacles. If they follow God on the exodus, it is spring time for the people of God at these two important points in time in fulfillment of this prayer of Jesus.
But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. (Matthew 24: 20)
    • Passover in the North (Crucifixion). When the people of God were symbolically fleeing to the north, God sent His Son in the spring time to die at Passover.
    • Tabernacles in the South (Second Coming). When the people of God are symbolically fleeing from Babylon in the north to go south, Christ will rescue them in the southern spring time during the feast of Tabernacles. During September-November it is spring in the southern hemisphere.
  • The Effect of the Solstices on the North and South. While the equinoxes distribute light evenly every where, the solstices distribute light and dark to the north and south. The symbolic meaning behind the north and south are that evil exists in the north, so it is a place from which the righteous must flee as far as possible. So the south becomes a place of refuge for the righteous.
» Tamuz 1, Future. The greatest darkness for the church.
» Tebeth 1, Future. The greatest darkness for the wicked. The king of the north arrives.
» Tamuz 15, Future. The greatest light for the wicked occurs around the first new moon after the winter solstice. Since the sun also gives heat, the punishment of the wicked can also be indicated. The call to come out of Babylon or the plagues could begin at this time.
» Tebeth 15, Future. The greatest light for the church occurs around the first full moon after the winter solstice.
Covenant Time: Day and Night. The rotation of the earth causes day when it is exposed to the sun and night where it is not. The ideal of God is perpetual day, however the curse of night is actually a blessing. Night time imposes sleep and rest. And for one third of our lives we do not sin because we are at rest. Three different revolutions create the three basic periods of time.
  • Earth Day ("Earth: Humans"). The revolution of the earth on its axis causes day and night. Day occurs where the earth faces the sun. The earth is a symbol of humans with a dual nature of light and dark. As we expose ourselves to the light of God, we become children of light. But as we turn away from God, we walk in darkness. The day and night is also a symbol of life and death.
  • Moon Month ("Moon: People of God"). The revolution of the moon around the earth. The moon is a symbol of the church. Because it is composed of people with both good and evil, the moon also has a light and dark side. The moon represents the light of God to the world in darkness. This is the role of the Church, to be a light to the world and a witness for God. The revolution of the moon around the earth is the Gospel reaching the whole world. The month is the period given to the righteous to accomplish this work. This lunar time table is discussed later.
Just as there are twelve months in a year, there are twelve leaders who founded the church during each covenant. After Christ, the symbol is that there are seven churches, or seven lunar cycles between the crucifixion and the Second Coming
  • Sun Year ("Sun: God"). The revolution of the earth around the sun. The sun is a symbol of God who has no darkness. The year represents the time that God will deal with the problem of sin that plagues the earth. This cycle controls the seasons. Each season is assigned a different phase of the work of salvation that God initiates.

Covenant Time: Week. The week was created by God as a rotation of seven days. It is the only period of time that is not related to a revolution of one planet but to every seven revolutions of the earth. The week is also closely related to the phases of the Moon. Approximately every seven days a new phase begins. So the lunar calendar was a critical component of the week. Under the most ideal conditions, each phase of the moon would occur on the same day of the week. If these cycles are perfectly aligned, we can use the phases of the moon to define the week. The month will be exactly 28 days long. This is probably what will occur in heaven.
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, said the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain, and it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, says the Lord. (Isaiah 66: 22-23)
» Jubilee. If the phases of the moon began every Sabbath, the new moon and Sabbath festivals could be a two day long event that is similar to the successive Sabbaths of the jubilee year.
» High Sabbath. If the phases occurred on the sixth day and mark the preparation day, then most festival Sabbaths (which occur on the first and fifteenth) will occur on the weekly Sabbath so that every event is a high Sabbath for every feast Sabbath except Yom Kippur. Judgment is an anomaly which will never occur again. This is the ideal cycle.

The Time Table in the Week. The week is also a time table of the Plan of Salvation. The first 6000 years are devoted to the reign of sin on the earth, or the works of man. Then the earth will be at rest in the seventh millennium. It will celebrate all the land Sabbaths and all the weekly Sabbaths that were promised to it by covenant, but denied to it by sinful men and women.
Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days of the desolation while you are in your enemies' land; Then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your Sabbaths, while you were living on it. (Leviticus 26: 34-35).
Six thousand years of farming the land is one thousand years of accumulated land Sabbaths.
Six thousand years of weekly work is one thousand years of accumulated daily Sabbaths. Both the earth and the people rest for 1000 years.

The history of the seven thousand years is a history of the gradual disintegration of the earth back to its original form as an Abyss. By the seventh millennium, Satan would be trapped into this abyss. His forced exile imposes rest.
  1. Light and Dark. Darkness came back to the earth when sin began and only the moon could give light to the earth.
  2. Sky. At creation, the water was separated from the earth and heavens. After sin, water is put back to cover the earth. The earth is destroyed by water from the skies during the flood in the second millennium.
  3. Trees (Food Supply). Abraham comes in the third millennium as the one who is the father of the promised seed. Trees were the first sign of life on the earth. The seed of life is promised from the tree of Abraham when Israel was planted in the Promised Land.
  4. Sun, Moon, Stars. Jesus comes in the fourth millennium as the light from God.
  5. Fish and Birds. The Holy Spirit, the Dove, comes. He and the church become the fishers of men with His help.
  6. Animals and Man. Humans are created at the end of this day and recreated at the end of this millennium. The beast with the seven heads is destroyed and the sheep are separated from the goats.
  7. Sabbath. The earth rests for one thousand years.
  8. New Week. A new beginning for the earth in the eighth millennium.
Covenant Seasons (Seedtime and Harvest). The seasons indicate when certain work should be done in the plan of salvation. The agricultural cycle begins with the planting of the seed in the spring. Then the rains help the plant to grow. In the autumn, the crop is ready for harvest. In reality, the Jews had three major harvests, the barley harvest in early spring, the wheat harvest two months later and the fruit harvest in autumn.
- Crucifixion Pentecost Persecution Holy Spirit Great Tribulation Second Coming Millennium Eternity
Cold Seed Barley Former Rain Wheat Drought Latter Rain Heat Harvest Fruit Grapes of Wrath Night Day
Winter Barley Rain Spring Wheat Summer Rain Autumn Fruit Autumn Spring
  • Spring. Spring is the time for planting. But the barley harvest must be ready for the Passover festival.
» Seedtime. Christ is the seed that was planted in the spring and He became the first fruits for the barley harvest used for the wavesheaf.
Truly, truly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies it bears much fruit. (John 12: 24)
Christ conquered death by dying. Christ is also called the "Word of God" who became flesh. (John 1:1) In a parable of the sower and the seed the Bible says.
... The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8: 11)
Both Christ and the written word of God are the seed that is planted in the world. This is because faith comes by hearing the word of God. (Romans 10: 17)
» The Former Rain. Just as a seed needs water and sunlight to grow, the church needs God and the Holy Spirit to grow. The sun is a symbol of God and water is a symbol of the cleansing and life giving work of the Holy Spirit. Rain comes in this season to give water to the wheat harvest. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was the rain from God who gave the early church the powerful gifts to do the work of God and bear fruit for God. The 3000 conversions at Pentecost were the wheat harvest.
  • Summer. The summer period came between the spring and fall feasts. It was a time of drought. This was represented in time as the 1260 years of persecution when the lack of the Holy Spirit brought a lack of knowledge of God. The farmer must work to save the crop by bringing water to the field during this harsh period. The underground church worked under severe hardship and threat of death to bring the gospel to the people.
» Heat. Before Christ comes again, there will be an intense period of persecution which is called "the Great Tribulation". It occurs at the time of the seven last plagues. As the world persecutes the church, God takes revenge.
  • Autumn. This is the time for reaping the fruit like grapes and olives. The feast of Tabernacles and the Second Coming must occur in autumn because Jesus will harvest the earth at this time.
» The Latter Rain. This rain comes in this season to prepare the fruit harvest. The final church will also receive power from God to finish His work.
  • Harvest. The Second Coming is the harvest of the fruit. Along with this harvest, the weeds are collected and burned and the crop is stored in the barn. The righteous will go to the barn in heaven and the wicked will be destroyed on the earth.
And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe." Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped. (Revelation 14: 15-16)
There are two types of spiritual fruit which are produced. The type depends on their response to the Holy Spirit.
    • Fruit of the Spirit. These have been watered and trained by the Holy Spirit and they produce the characters that are the fruit of righteousness.
    • Grapes of Wrath. These are the weeds and the grapes of wrath that are trampled outside the city.
So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great winepress of the wrath of God. (Revelation 14: 19)
  • Winter. This is the time when no planting can be done. The earth is dead. This is the millennium on earth.

God gives rest to both the righteous and the wicked during the long night of the millennium. The wicked rest in their graves, the righteous are on vacation in heaven. The earth is at rest. Even Satan is forced to rest from his daily task of plotting and perpetrating evil.
In our lesson on the colors of God, we explain how the light from God was broken into its individual colors to complete the process of Salvation. The death of Christ initiated this process. And as the light from God in Christ combines with the waters of the Holy Spirit, the rainbow appeared across time that demonstrates the order of the process of recreating us and the work that God is doing in each phase.

Covenant Signs.
Rainbow Cloud Fire Star Full moon Solar eclipse Cloud Fire Solar eclipse Blood moon Stars fall Star Cloud Hail Rest Sun
Flood Exodus Birth Death Ascension Pentecost Judgment Second Coming Millennium Eternity
God uses the objects in the heavens as signs that indicate significant milestones in the Plan of Salvation. When these signs occur, they are usually miracles that cannot be explained by the laws of astronomy and physics.
  • Flood. A rainbow appeared as a sign that He would not destroy them with water. In fact, with the coming of the Holy Spirit, He would save them with water.
  • Exodus. At the exodus from Egypt God appeared as a pillar of cloud during the day to give them shade. He was a pillar of fire by night to give them light and also to stop the advancing armies of Pharaoh.
  • Birth (First Coming). At His birth, a star appeared in the sky for several months.
Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him. (Matthew 2: 2)
  • Death. At His death a solar eclipse of supernatural origin occurred. It was also the time of the full moon. This is spiritually the time when the church, in the form of one obedient Man, shined the brightest. The signs signaled both the death of the sun and the death of the moon.
  • Pentecost. The sign of the Holy Spirit was tongues of fire above their heads.
  • Judgment. The sign of the end of the 1260 years of persecution and the beginning of the judgment of the righteous was a dark day, blood moon and falling stars. All of these signs point to the fate of the wicked who are rejected.
    • Dark Day. The light from God no longer shines on the church.
    • Blood Moon. The wicked church was judged as being full of blood. The moon is a symbol of the church shining in the dark night.
    • Falling Stars. The wicked church falls, just as Satan fell like a star from Heaven.
  • Second Coming. This event is actually the last exodus of the righteous from the land of sin. It is accompanied by similar signs of the presence of God, cloud and fire. He comes with clouds and brings hail. Balaam forsees two signs at the first and second coming of the Messiah.
Star of Jacob (Birth). I see him but not now; I behold him but not near. A star shall come forth from Jacob,
Scepter of Israel (Second Coming). a scepter shall rise from Israel, and shall crush through the forehead of Moab, and tear down all the sons of Sheth.
    (Numbers 24: 17)
The scepter might be an unusually shaped comet or object with a long tail and a big head.
  • Millennium. On earth, the sign is a sky without any light. This signifies the absence of any godly influence.
In Heaven the sign of salvation is a day without work. This is the Sabbath day. The seventh day testifies of rest in the seventh millennium.
  • Heaven. The sign is a sun and moon that never sets.
The Sign of A Covenant is Rest.
A sign also accompanies a covenant. God makes a covenant sign by putting light, a symbol of Himself, in the object that destroys. In doing this He proves that He has tamed the destructive force because He is Master of it. The symbol must be visible to the whole world or experienced by the whole world. All three eternal signs appear to be associated with the primary work of each member of the Godhead. All three are a symbol of rest.
  • The Work of Jesus Christ: Sabbath (Salvation: Rest from Sin). He created the Sabbath as a sign that He would give us rest from sin. He did this by mixing light with time. That is hard to imagine. He names and blesses the day and personally fills time with His presence. So that, somehow, the day becomes holy and is filled with a life and an identity that cannot be assigned to any other day. It is a promise that one day He will come in time as a human to give us rest from sin and then transport us to a time of eternal rest.
The Covenant of Rest. Also I gave them my Sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them. (Ezekiel 20: 12)
» Passover. Jesus is God's light mixed with time. He came into the world to reveal God and to die for sin.
  • The Work of the Holy Spirit: Rainbow (Mercy: Rest from Judgment). God conquered the raging sea of wicked humanity with a flood. When God created a symbol which shows that He will never destroy the earth with water, He mixed light with water to produce a rainbow, which demonstrated His glory and His works of salvation through seven colors. A rainbow signifies rest because it comes after the storm, when the sun returns.
The Covenant of Mercy. God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations. I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh. (Genesis 9: 12-15)
This is the work of the Holy Spirit who became a symbol of water. At the flood water destroyed, after the cross water creates. Study our lesson on the colors of God to see how God represents Himself in the colors of the rainbow after the death of Christ to accomplish His plan of salvation. You will see that the rainbow is not simply a sign that He will not destroy the earth with water, it is a sign of how He will save the earth with water. In fact, God will save the earth with three streams. The first of blood, then of water, then of fire.
» Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is God's light mixed with water. He came into the world to wash away sin.
  • The Work of the Father: Sun (Security: Rest from Darkness). In the new kingdom, He will never destroy the earth with fire. What is the symbol that He will not do this? He mixes light with fire to produce a light that is brighter than the sun. After everything has been subdued to Him and all darkness has been removed, Jesus gives it back to the Father.
The Covenant of Peace. I will make a covenant of peace with them, it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place will also be with them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever. (Ezekiel 37: 26-28)
He lives here with us and becomes our Sun that never sets so that we feel at peace and secure.

The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you: but the Lord shall be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. Your sun shall no more go down; neither shall your moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. (Isaiah 60: 19-20)
» Tabernacles. The Father is the light mixed with fire. He will execute the final judgment to remove the darkness.

The Conquering God.
The previous discussion shows how God conquers. He conquers by becoming the thing to be conquered without defiling Himself. Then He adds light to the conquered object to make it holy and to create a symbol of His conquest.
  • Death. God conquered death by dying so that He can possess the keys of death and hell.
★ The Symbol of Light. Eternal life for former sinners who are now a symbol of the glory of God.
  • Darkness. God conquered darkness by turning off the light and covering His eyes.
    Then Moses said, "I pray You, show me Your glory!" And He said, "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion." But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" Then the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock;
In the Darkness. and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen".
    (Exodus 33: 18-23)
In the darkness of the cross, while the sun refused to shine, God passed by the sins of humanity by making Jesus become sin and then turning His back on Jesus so that He could not see our sins. That is how we obtained forgiveness in the darkness.
God basically said to Satan, "Today you have one chance of showing Me their sins, and I refuse to be a witness against an innocent Man".
So God covered His eyes and turned off the light at the moment Satan said, "Behold the Man!"
★ The Symbol of Light. The perfection of Christ.
  • Serpent. God conquered the serpent, Satan, by becoming a serpent when He was treated like a serpent.
The Greatest Sinner. He made Him who knew no sin to became sin for us. (2 Corinthians 5: 21)
The Greatest Serpent. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up. so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. (John 3: 14-15)
» The King of Serpents. As the King, He swallowed up His enemies when He sprang to life from the dead wood.
... and Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his servants and it became a serpent. For each one threw down his staff and they turned into serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. (Exodus 7: 10, 12)
★ The Symbol of Light. Righteousness. The innocent, submissive Christ lifted up on the cross in the darkness.
  • Firstborn. In the final plague, God conquered the enemies of Egypt by destroying their firstborn. Then He claimed all firstborn as His possession.
for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether man or animal. They are to be mine. I am the LORD. (Numbers 3: 13) also Numbers 8: 17
★ The Symbol of Light. God took a tribe for Himself to be His priests.
The Levites (Priests of God). Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites are to be mine. I am the LORD. (Numbers 3: 45)
  • Man. God conquered sin by becoming a Son of Man, our kinsman-redeemer and the perfect firstborn son of God.
The Sign of The Son of Man.
Jesus made a very intriguing statement about His coming.
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
(Matthew 24: 30-31)
What is this sign of the son of Man? We can show that all the objects in heaven point to Christ at some time or another. At His birth the sign was a star. As a human, He was represented by the full moon. At His death, the blotting out of the sun was a sign of the death of God. But when He comes, He is no longer the human Jesus. He is the Bridegroom who comes to give rest to His bride. So He dresses in white and He does not come in judgment of the righteous. He comes with light and shade, not heat.
  • » Cloud and Fire. He comes with clouds of angels. But this cannot look like an ordinary cloud, otherwise it would not cause alarm on the earth. This is a cloud that gives off fire and light. It might also appear during a dark night so that it is even more visible.
Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. (Revelation 1: 7)
Christ could also come with the cloud of angels along the clouds of the Milky Way, beginning in Orion and ending with Opiuchus.
  • » Darkness at Noon. The sun will be dark at noon and the moon turn to blood on the Day of the Lord (Joel 2: 31; Amos 8: 9). We will have an impossible occurrence of both a solar and lunar eclipse. In the last fourteen days on earth we could have a lunar eclipse on the first and a solar eclipse on the fourteenth or both events on the fourteenth.
  • » A Cross in the Sky. Since this is a sign in the sky, it could be related to one of the autumn constellations, the most likely season of the Second Coming. The greatest recognizable global symbol of Christianity is a cross. It is the sign that the Messiah was cut off out of the land of the living. It could be this sign.
» The Sign of Passover and the Covenant. Both of these signs are on the body, declaring that the Messiah would be cut off in the flesh. The cross is the best symbol of this sign.
  • » Signs in the Autumn Constellations. If the constellations are used for signs then unusual activity in the autumn sky could ne the source of this sign.
    • Serpens Caput ("The Head of the Snake"). This section of serpens begins in the autumn season. The head of the serpent looks like it is impaled by a cross. It was the cross that caused his fatal head wound. When Jesus comes to bind Satan and give him that wound, He may come with the sign of the cross.
    • Cygnus ("The Northern Cross"). This cross could show more activity.
    • Sagittarius ("The Sitting Gods"). The front stars of this constellation have the same description as the "Son of Man" in Matthew 26: 64.
    • Hercules ("The Hero"). He is the "Son of Man", the child of Eve who would crush the head of the serpent.
  • » Star in the East. Following the pattern of the first coming, the sign could also include a bright star to guide us home. Christ was born during the feast of Tabernacles. So the star at His birth and First Coming must have appeared in the eastern autumn sky and it may be the same star or constellation that will announce His Second Coming. If we saw a bright new star for several months in the autumn skies before He comes, it would be a significant source of alarm because it would come at a time when there is great trouble on the earth.
Whatever it is, it must be more frightening than an ordinary comet.

Local Signs.
Eclipses are not rare events. The earth experiences at least four and as much as nine each year. But they seem rare because the same place on earth does not often experience an eclipse.
The Bible says that the heavens and its objects can be used for signs. Some prophecies tell us when to expect these signs. We can look at history to discover a pattern in their usage but even those that are known fulfillments sometimes occur years before the complete fulfillment. Let us look at some famous prophetic and historical events that were accompanied by astronomical signs.

Sometimes an eclipse is just an eclipse. When the heavenly bodies are used as signs the event appears to be outside of the natural order of events. It is a miracle. So the value of the stars as a sign occurs very rarely, but comets seem to accompany the birth and death of rulers.
  • Solar Eclipse. Fall of an empire. The righteous fall.
  • Lunar Eclipse. The death of an important person, important war that changes powers.
  • Comet. The coming of another religious power. Change of power. The birth and death of kings.
  • Falling Stars. The fall of the righteous or those who were once righteous.
  • Earthquake. A great change. Change of government. Resurrection of the dead.
If we assume that the annual march of the constellations was part of an ancient system of signs used by God then we can see them as persistent signs pointing us towards the timetable of the Great Plan of Salvation.

The major function of the heavens is to reveal the glory of God and to hold a time table for the plan of salvation in its symbols. It shows the order in which He will work out this plan and a rough time table and the perpetual struggle between darkness and light. Since God knows the future, it appears that He created and designed our universe with some temporary systems that are meant to sustain us and reflect His power.
  • God. He has a precise schedule and task list that has been built into the design of the universe.
  • Night and Day. The duration of sin lasts during the dark part of the day when only the moon and stars give light.
  • Phases of the Moon. They show the work of the church in reflecting the light of God throughout the stages of the process of salvation during the long night of sin.
  • Global Week. Each day is 1000 years. The week is not an astronomical construct. God created it by counting seven days. For that reason it is also blessed as an object that is named and numbered. Within this time, God has set His true calendar for the plan of salvation. The earth will have six periods of time or six thousand years of domination under sin. In the seventh millennium, God will give the earth and all its people rest.
  • 3.5 Days. God also has a time table of disposing of sin in 3.5 periods of time or during the fourth period. When we look at the fact that "a day" is considered to be both the "evening and the morning" and also the light part of the day then another pattern emerges. We can see this same 7000 year period of time as 3.5 global days with the dark part and the light part each lasting one thousand years. Each day is 2000 years.
For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the night. (Psalm 90: 4)
The fourth day becomes the day when all issues are resolved as it is written in the law.
The fruit harvest can only be offered in the fourth year and the third commandment says that iniquity will be punished up to the fourth generation. Therefore the third coming is at day 3.5.
For Christ this prophecy of Hosea was fulfilled in His last three days, for us it is fulfilled during the 7000 years.
Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us but He will heal us. He has wounded us but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days. He will raise us up on the third day, that we may live before Him. (Hosea 6:1-2)
    1. Torn and Wounded. We sinned and had been rejected and were torn at the flood.
    2. Revived. We were revived when Jesus died for our sins and had a chance at eternal life.
    3. Raised Up. He will be resurrected and raptured on the third day.

» Judgment in the Light. God's justice is also given in the periods that are the light part of the day. Christ was killed at the end of year 4000. The judgment of the righteous is at the end of year 6000. The final judgment of the wicked is in the morning of year 8000.
» Sin in the Dark. Sin also reigned in the dark or evening. Sin began on the evening of year 1000 and began the spiritual darkness and separation from God. Even after the flood sin still reigned and God had to call Abraham out of the darkness. There was apostasy and mental darkness for over 1000 years after Christ. It was such a great darkness that it even obscured the light of the reformers for centuries after the light returned. Satan is confined to a world of physical for the entire 1000 years of year 7000.
  • Creation. The order of creation also reflects the order of our recreation in the Plan of Salvation.
  • Creation of Time. During the week of Creation, God established time in a specific order that was prophetic.
    • Day ("First Day"). The cycles of night and day began even before the sun and moon were created.
    • Year ("Fourth Day"). This began the "Year of the Lord" and the "Day of Atonement".
    • Week ("Seventh Day"). Our entire eternity with God is pictured as a time of rest.
  • Constellations. They show God's symbolic actions throughout the seasons and in the order that events will be fulfilled.
  • Sanctuary and Feasts. It demonstrates the suffering and the appointed time of the appearance of the Messiah and the relationship of the Messiah to the old and the new covenants. The feasts follow the agricultural cycle imposed by the seasons. So, together, the feasts, the seasons and the planting schedule demonstrate the order of the rebirth of mankind and the steps that God is taking to give birth to us.

March The Order of the Tribes and the Twelve Months of the Year
The months begin with the new moon and the moon represents the church. In addition to the information presented below, the first seven months also represent the characteristics of the last seven churches of Revelation. These churches exist between the First Coming and the Second Coming or between Nisan and Tishri. Here we will show a possible connection to the events of the final week in the life of Jesus and the Gospel in the heavens.

While the first six months represent the experience of all people, the eighth to twelfth month represents the response after the judgment of the seventh month. These are the events of the Second Coming and the Third Coming for both the righteous and the wicked. We do not know which constellations were part of "the Mazzaroth", the twelve we know as the Zodiac may have been chosen later. So we will look at alternate constellations visible at the same time.
  1. Aries ("The Ram"). Jesus, the King becomes the Lamb of God. He is the hired man who paid the wages of sin.
  2. Taurus ("Bull") and Orion ("Loyal Shepherd"). He is the young bull from among the cherubim who carries a burden. He is Orion who removes burdens.
  3. Gemini ("Twin"). He and the Holy Spirit work together to save us from sin.
Argo Navis ("Ship"). The ancients also knew this constellation. The Holy Spirit would be our safe haven during the rough centuries on the raging sea.
  4. Cancer ("Crab, Crayfish") and Hydra ("Water Snake"). Unclean fish in troubled waters. Reuben also betrayed his father by adultery. He is the snake in turbulent water.
  5. Leo ("Lion"). The great king is betrayed and His disciples scatter at His defeat.
  6. Virgo ("Virgin, Maiden") and Bootes. At the time Jesus was on trial, God judged Him innocent and pure. Bootes is the herdsman and shepherd who is gathering His flock.
  7. Libra ("Scales of Judgment") and Serpens ("The Serpent"). This is Dan, the one who is judged as the serpent. Jesus was judged a serpent.
  8. Scorpio ("Scorpion") and Ophiuchus ("The Serpent Holder"). He suffered the sting of death and became Ophiuchus who defeated the serpent, was resurrected and now has the power to raise the dead.
  9. Sagittarius ("Archer") and Hercules ("Hero"). He is the stag who was freed. Hercules is the hero who wounded the head of the dragon. He is also the Lord's goat.
  10. Sagittarius ("Archer") and Capricorn ("Goat"). Jesus was the Lord's Goat who has His reproach removed. Satan is the Scapegoat. Joseph is the victorious archer who was once betrayed.
  11. Aquarius ("Water Bearer"). He sent the Holy Spirit to wash away our sins and forget our past. Manasseh is the tree planted by rivers of water.
  12. Pisces and Cepheus ("The King"). We are the fish that have been saved from the raging sea to become kings.

Month
Name ofGod orPersonality
Origins of Name
January
Roman god Janus
[Ir. gionbhar or gionvar; Russ. genvar; Fr. janvier; It. gennaio; Sp. enero; Port. janeiro; L. januarius. It is evident from the Irish and Russian words, that the first syllable of January, is from the root of L. geno, to beget, Eng. to begin, Sax. aginnan. Var is said to signify a revolution. January then signifies the beginning, or first month. Janus is probably from the same root.]The first month of the year, according to the present computation. At the foundation of Rome, March was considered the first month. January and February were introduced by Numa Pompilius.
February

[L. Februarius; Fr. Fevrier; It. Febbraio; Sp. Febrero; Arm. Fevrer; Port. Fevereiro; Ir. Feabhra; Russ. Phebral. The Latin word is said to be named from februo, to purify by sacrifice, and thus to signify the month of purification, as the people were, in this month, purified by sacrifices and oblations. The word februo is said to be a Sabine word, connected with ferveo, ferbeo, to boil, as boiling was used in purifications. This practice bears a resemblance to that of making atonement amoung the Jews; but the connection between ferveo and February is doubtful.] The name of the second month of the year.
March
Roman god Mars
[L. Mars, the god of war.]The third month of the year.
April

[L. aprilis; Fr. avril; Sp. abril; Ir. abrail; Corn. ebril; W. ebrill.] The fourth month of the year.
May
Greek goddess Maia
[L. Maius; Fr. Mai; It. Maggio; Sp. Mayo.] The fifth month of the year, beginning with January, but the third beginning with March, as was the ancient practice of the Romans.

the pronunciation "aitch" was in O.Fr.
